They don't have to, but I think that most device except host do that for energy saving/limitation, security or wake up purpose.

But then you can't order the auto pilot to bring out the car for you. You would have to manually control it. Or at least manually turn wireless ON.

Security purpose may impose to reboot every x hour or day except when express detailed need for use it. Lot of company here have such rules for updates purpose. Even when there is no update to do.

For your limo reboot when start waiting client or after drop him, are good security procedure and not really contraindicated for good uses.
