Title: Gravity Falls has fallen...
Post by: Raiderjoseph on <02-15-16/2057:36>
And with this Disney is dead. We have no hope left. We can only keep Star Trek out of its grubby clutches at all costs. Goodbye Gravity Falls. May you chill with Phineas and Ferb until the end of time. And to those who says we still have Kingdom Hearts... Dude no way in HELL does New Disney have anything to do directly with Kingdom Hearts storyline. Except maybe a few worlds they supplied for use in the games. That was all Square Enix chummers and retro Disney love. Nope. Im convinced Disney charm is dead. Cant make me think so otherwise. Weird im posting this here but I dont frequent a lot of forums. So... yeah.

It sounds like you are reacting to some event,, rumour, or piece of information .... But you didn't say what that was.  Could you clarify?

Last episode of an amazing show aired 2 hours ago. Disney has declined and since Phineas and Ferb is gone. This was our last lifeline. So im lamenting it.

Don't lament it, enjoy it for what it was.
A damn good ride and probably the best Series that came from this company since Gargoyles Season I+II.

+1.

Don't be sad 'cause it ended, be happy 'cause it happened.

Lets's admit it, though, trying to make a show too long is a bad idea.

Ah, reading fail on my part   :o -- I read "Gravity Fails" rather than "Gravity Falls" and thought that this had something to do with the classic Cyberpunk novel "When Gravity Fails."  (Which I really couldn't imagine Disney ever touching).

Showing my age, I guess   :(  (both in thinking of a 30 year old novel over a modern tv show, and in struggling to read accurately on my phone because I really need to get fragging progressive lenses for my glasses.  Come on, when are decent cyber-eyes going to be a thing -- I could really go for a pair any time now....)

Amen

When I had to have the actual lenses in my eyes replaced, which is a fun job where they shatter and vacuum out the original lens so they can insert a plastic one into the eye itself, I was getting funny looks from the doc and nurses when I asked if there were thermographic and low light options available. :P

Sadly not yet. :(

Did you in fact ask this?

Oh yes, it came up when we were discussing options for the surgery.

I suffered an unusual form of cataract which was causing triple vision so normal options were not available and they didn't believe laser surgery could correct this.

So they went with the remove and replace option.  They did offer me the option of putting in a varifocal lens right into the eye so ideally I supposedly wouldn't need glasses afterwards as well.  I felt that my eyesight would still degrade over time, my many years of working with books catching up with me, so preferred the option of keeping the glasses as they would be easier to change out than having to go back under the knife to upgrade the internal lens.

At that point I did ask the doc if there was any low light option or maybe even something to see infrared with.  He gave me a funny look and said that was unfortunately not available.

The best part was the doc said I could choose to be completely awake for this and would just numb the area during the surgery.
Now you have to understand I have trouble even putting contacts in and blink at really loud sounds (which made my short time in band as a drummer very amusing to watch) due to a few quirks and sensitivities, plus also a number of the normal topical/local anaesthetics don't always work on me very well.
At which point I said, nope I want to be under and informed them in no uncertain terms that there was no way they were going to lift the cornea, shatter the lens, suction it out and insert a new lens into the eye without me potentially punching someone out of reflex.

At which point the Doc agreed maybe putting me under would be the better option. :P

But back on topic.
It is a shame GF has been cut, only caught an episode or two and it seemed alright.
Now with it being Disney does that mean they will or won't release it for general sales on DVD or will it go into their vault for periodic sales?

I'm currently reading When Gravity Fails , after finishing High Aztech. I wonder how much these influence the SR writers...
