What happens to tattoos, scars, and other skin 'anomalies' when you get Orthoskin?  Is it the equivalent of capped teeth - when you get orthoskin your skin in flawless?

Earlier descriptions of orthoskin in SR1 Shadowtech (p.17) and SR3 Man and Machine (p.68) explain it as a layer of material under the skin:

"Orthoskin weaves an energy-diffusing material just beneath the skin that provides the equivalent of personal armor. The transformation of skin into orthoskin is an extensive process: The individual's skin is peeled back section by section, and the body's dermal layer is fortified by grafts of sythagen (a strengthened and reinforced collagen-protein derivative), flextin (a synthetic and more resilient form of elastin protein), and flakes of modified and laced cartilage. Once transplanted, orthoskin grows like normal skin and is virtually indistinguishable from unaugmented skin, as the underlying subdermis is altered at the same time. Orthoskin usually heals with little or no scarring."

Sounds to me like you'd keep any existing scars, birthmarks, tattoos, etc. when you get orthoskin. Ink might need some touching up, after.

Orthoskin question that doesn't actually deserve it's own thread: does orthoskin affect tactile sensitivity? Does dermal plating affect tactile sensitivity for that matter?
After all you don't send an electrician to fix your leaking toilet.

It used to, but not in Fifth Edition.
