I am working on an infiltrator type character, here is the challange, if any are brave enough:

5k NuYen to outfit said infiltrator, he is an elf, there for low light vision is not needed. 

Character is body 3, has firearms group 4, no other combat skills and needs the following

Armor
Melee weapon
Ranged weapon
Comlink (no disposible)
Fake SIN
Other gear

I have what I have done, I want to see what others come up with

All that in only 5k nuyen? You're pretty well screwed. Personally I would drop the Firearms Group 4, and just buy one class of firearm skill to rank 4, spending the other points on combat skills such as Dodge or the like. And with no melee skills, you don't really need a melee weapon, though it would be helpful. Honestly, you're going to be getting crap gear if all you have to spend is 5k. Especially since some of the key things for an infiltrator type cost at least a thousand.

It is part of a character concept, that of a real on the outs military trainee, he is broke, he has no gear.  Part of the challange I am looking forward to is the inching himself up regarding the gear.  the 5k starting money is a consesion to the original concept of no gear. 

I do realise that the gear will be less that optimal

And why would the team bother to accept you into their number without the necessary materiel for your role on the team? A professional team would just as soon ditch you to the ghouls and find someone who does have the majority of what is required for the role.

Not every team is highly professional. Runners with inferior equipment might also be paid less. Some low profit jobs can be most profitable by employing cheap labor.

Before I post my version, let me answer some concerns others have. 

First why hire: why not?  If they see potential in you, and you manage to survive, they have made a contact, if you don't survive, well the run becomes more profitable for the others.  Yes a bit of meat shield/might be useful, as long as you are not a liability.  Another reaason might be "Your available, other's are unavailable/not worth the price"

Plus starting characters might not be "Profesional" enough to care

Cool thing about the AK-97 is that it's legal, and it's only a +2 concealment modifer (with sling and lined coat), so with a decent Palming score you might pull off hiding it. I gave the Meta Link programs so it can be, ya know, used. Fake SIN 2 is pretty necessary. A Rating 1 Fake SIN is going to be detected so quickly that it's hardly worth your money. I debated spending another 100 nuyen on a Laser Sight for the AK-97, but decided that other gear might be more useful.
