Just thought I'd let everyone who liked the original Wasteland, the sequel Wasteland 2 is currently in a kickstarter phase. You can find the project here.

For those who haven't hear of Kickstarter, it's a way to get funding for a project from fans rather than through traditional means. Pledges aren't actually given until the project date is over (you can cancel pledges if you have to before that date) and only given if the project is funded. If it's a project you would buy anyway when released, pledging at the lower levels can be seen as simply an extremely early pre-order.

The project goal is 900k (they need 1 million but the lead dev is going to front the leftover as long as they hit the 900k) and has managed to already accumulate 550k at this point. If it's something you like, make sure to get the word out as it won't get funded unless the fans know about it.

Officially funded now and then some. Looks like we will finally get to see Wasteland 2 despite no publishers willing to give it a second look. I'm starting to really like Kickstarter's potential.

27 days to go and it's at 1.42 million. At this rate we may even see Linux and Max support come out of it.

I think they're also going to do multi-language as well.

I believe they confirmed Russian already at least. There is a poll on the inXile site here for what to do with the extra money. I'm personally voting for the Mod kit.
