I wanted to know for the Licences do have to buy one for each piece of equipment or could I just have a Licences that covers lets say (Security Tools) or (Firearms)
If they are connected to a Sin that is listed as having a job as maybe a Spider or maybe Corporate security

Well, you have to have some way to explain where you get all that nuyen you're spending.  ;D  A forged job certainly helps.  Some fake call centre is probably set up in some third world hellhole (Like Seattle) where SINless people act like your co-workers, or just some Voice Mail Hell to go along with High-End SINs.

As for Licenses, I've never seen GMs handle them the same way.  I usually go with a "Concealed Carry Permit" License and an Ares or CAS Fake SIN to explain why I have firearms, hunting licenses are also favourites of mine (Explains hunting rifles and shotguns.).

For anything full-auto that you want to try and get past security or whathaveyou, yeah, you're talking a heavy security Fake SIN job.  But, honestly, if you're packing like that you're not likely going to care for people checking your SIN and licenses anyhow.

Also, remember how violent and dark the world of the 2050s-2070s is.  Watch Predator 2, look for the subway scene.  That's Tuesday in Seattle on the Monorail.

You should work with your GM for permits of all kinds to make sure you are all on the same page. The UCAS (in the mind of your GM) might require different permits than a game set in England.

Also remember that permits are tied to a SIN, and only THAT SIN. So if you have 3 SINs, each needs it's own permits. Also, a job that needs the required permits must be present. A daycare worker does not need a restricted weapons permit.... But a EVO security specialist might. Keep in mind that major cyberware needs a permit as well.

Noone is going to bat an eye over a data jack or cybereyes, but strength enhancers, or reflex enhancers make people in authority nervous.

I also recommend that you either get some law knowledge skill specifically related to local permitting or get a lawyer as a contact that can do that for you.

This is one of the areas in the book that I think could have used a lot more examples.

I seem to remember the 1e Shadowtech book having an entire section dedicated to just this.

Reaver, buddy, you're forgetting that we're talking about the Sixth World.

A Daycare Worker has to worry about not only pedophiles and other kidnappers, but gangers, feral Infected, Devil Rats, and all sorts of other nasties that don't exist in this world. The Caregiver having a gun would probably be expected in most places.

"Sir, why do you have a shotgun over your shoulder?"  "I work in the Morgue.  Here's my ID."  "Oh, sorry sir, please go about your day."

True there are more threats in SR. But guns don't make people feel safer nesicarily, SECUIRTY does. Do you feel safe in a bar surrounded by inbred rednecks all packing shotguns and revolvers? Didn't think so :D
("yer gots a purdy mouth der city slicker, why dontcha come over 'ere")

Guns give the holder the illusion of safety, but instill unease in those around them (especially if they are unarmed) so a daycare worker might have a holdout at home, but not on the workplace. keep in mind too, not all games are placed in Seattle, and not all countries have a liberal view of firearms. Hence why I said talk to your GM about permits.

Depends on which bar full of inbred rednecks it was.  Some were quite friendly and decent.  Others were places SWAT didn't want to deal with.

The one with the Mosin Nagant would win. They don't make them like that anymore, you could kill a freaking tank with that things bayonet.
