...how do you all deal with the filesize limit without resorting to a lot of compression?

256 KB would almost be a postage stamp at 0%.

I just post mine as links in the post rather then attachments.

...a lot of the high quality pics I'm seeing on the thread here have got to be bigger than 256K.  There are also some posts that have more than the maximum allowance of 4.

As a link they won't show up in the post (at least that is my experience with other forum software).

Scythe, anything is fair game. We just usually leave out published SR art, because well, we all have access to that art. We try and post stuff we've found that others might not have seen. So, 100% yes that pic is what we are looking for.

Kyoto, yes all the big posts you see are links from hosting sites. that's how Basic, Wak, I and most of the others do it. And with this prog it really doesn't care if you load up on the links. Back in the day people asked Basic and I to hold it down to just 10 pics a post...
