So I've been watching a bit of '80s cheeze tv. I'm like 4 episodes in and it's amazing how much this show reminds me of SR2-3.

A gritty ,dystopian future where the main character is a investigative reporter who runs into trouble with a camera rather than a gun who's brain patterns are used to create what is basically an artifical intelligence and a hacker/computer geek sidekick?

NAH, nothing Shadowrun-esque about that AT ALL.

Do not forget the use of credit/ID cylinders, terminology like 'Ice', and security companies with the right to use excessive force.

Because that requires writers and people who want to be creative, neither of which are available on Reality TV.

That is true, but then again they cancelled something before it had gotten good.  I hate it when they do that, I honestly believe if someone who loved the material from the first run was able to do it I think it would be good.

It would be nice to have a reinvisioning which would make use of more modern technology, stripped down typewriters and corded phones kinda date the material.
