Except when they're used against you. Trust me, I can think of all sorts of ways that could go bad.

As in portal on the bottom of a plane and then a portal beneath your feats?
At least you will have a few seconds to wonder why you didn't wear your parashoot today...

Except when they're used against you. Trust me, I can think of all sorts of ways that could go bad.

At least you will have a few seconds to wonder why you didn't wear your parashoot today...

Or over a vat of acid, or right at the mouth of a running wood-chipper, or on the ceiling of a den of feral ghouls. Oh, and don't forget the classic "infinite fall" cannonball / boulder worked up to terminal velocity and then launched out the portal on command!

Then there's the more teamwork-oriented stuff, like having it bring bad things to you... such as having the barrel of a Heavy Gauss Cannon on the other end, or using a "Small" size drone with Chameleon Cloak and a Weapon Mount to open a wall portal for a group of heavily armored trolls with Thunderstruck rifles.
