Snow looks around at the others.  She already knows that her bag is about 95% medical supplies that she considers to be essential.  She might be able to replace these items in Lagos, but it would likely be far more expensive.  Still, arriving and spending money to replace things left behind is better than not arriving at all.  As Jane arrives, Snow is sorting things in her mind to decide what are the really critical meds and what are only almost critical.

Sam frowned at Con's directness. The gun nut was right, of course, but he simply did not know how to talk to people. Leading Dobiri aside, he smiled at the pilot. "We appreciate your concern for our safety, but my companions' equipment is necessary. I believe there is an old tradition where airlines would allow overweight bags for a nominal fee. Is this not so? And how soon will we be able to take off? Our employer does not appreciate delays." He knew Jane was in a hurry, and figured she'd appreciate his expediting their departure.

[Crossbow]

"Maybe tomorrow, maybe day after, maybe day after that.  You don't want to wait for Dobiri?  You can always walk.  Baggage fee is 100 each, and you hold bag in your lap."

[Necrogigas]

O'Connor gave a huff, this bulldrek was really starting to get on his nerves. This was suppose to be a fun adventure shooting up a lawless and exotic city. So far it was nothing but taking it up the hoop with all these incessant bribes. He turned to the group, "We're on the coast, Lagos is on the coast. If this guy doesn't want to do his job, we could find a boat."

Snow tries to pick up the local news feeds to see what is being reported about the affair in Lagos.  >>I am trying to access the local news feeds to see what is being reported, but if there is fighting there, would it not be at the port as well?  And I would think there is a high chance of encountering pirates as we travel along the coast.  I also remind you that any boat we find will likely be more derelict than this plane.<<

"I don't often say this, but Con might be right. 'Innocent Dobiri' is quickly losing his innocence and turning into 'Greedy Dobiri', which I have no patience for. A person should honour the price they quote, not try to fleece the people bringing them business." The calmness of Clem's voice didn't reflect her mood at all, which was mildly annoyed at all the hidden fees and ways with which the locals were trying to hustle.

O'Connor turned to Snow, "Fighting pirates sounds like a perk to me. Either way we need to get to Lagos right now. It'll be easier to fight off pirates than shoot down missiles with small arms. Not that Dobby here is willing to brave it."

Snow looks at her team, "Should we not see what Jane wants to do?  I am concerned that the voyage by water might take much longer than the flight would take, even with a day delay.  And fighting pirates might excite your libido, but it could just as easily lead to bullet holes in a crappy boat that sinks and leaves us stranded on an unfriendly shore.  Besides which, chartering the boat could be very expensive and the plane is already paid for.  All in all, I would rather take my chances in this plane that the boat.  But the real decision should be up to Jane, I think."

[Necrogigas]

O'Connor then turned to Jane, "Yeah, this is your run and your call. But Didgeridoo over here is saying there's a delay between one to three day, maybe even more. You said that time is the key factor here, and do you really want to pay each of us half a week to sit here scratching our junk? So unless you're the one taking care of my junk, I'd rather move on and earn that pay. On the other hand, if you want to wait, I can take care of things for you too." The grin he gives the elf woman is an odd combination of part serious proposition and part trying to push her buttons.

[HydroRaven]

Clem interjected with a chuckle "The good news is, there isn't much junk to scratch there," pointing at O'Connor. "The bad news, it would be as horrible as you imagine it. But in the end, we are at your disposal and will do what you think is best for the timeline, whether that be to take our chances with Dobiri or to look for alternate transportation."

[Necrogigas]

O'Connor clutched at his heart with a flair of dramatism, "My darkest secrets revealed, how could you?" He straightened up with a mocking grin at Clem, "That does mean you admit to sleeping with me, though."

"Let's see what Jane has to say," Sammy said to the team, "and if really necessary, we'll leave behind some of those kilos of bullets you brought.  You can get a lot more very cheap in Lagos, from what I heard about it."

Then she looked at Snow.
"Can you try to find out what type of plane that is and what it's maximum take-off weight is," she asked.  Paying overweight was something she was accustomed to and while she wasn't a frequent traveler, she had been out in the boonies when they were shooting a movie in Saskatoon in the Algonkian-Manitou council.  There too they had to travel the last part in a small plane with weight limitations, which she remembered as being something of a bother for the technical staff.

Note to self: don't take this team to a casino, Sam thought to himself. He gave Dobiri a half-apologetic smile. "As you see, our group is extremely anxious to be on our way. I'm afraid that that one--" he nodded towards O'Connor"--might seriously take up your challenge of walking there. And he's bull-headed enough to actually pull it off. Of course, he's also hot-headed enough that displeasing him would be a bad idea. It's entirely possible that getting on his bad side would be more dangerous than the flight into Lagos. Just something to consider."

With an incredulous/horrified look, Clem looked back to O'Connor and said, in a silent voice so that Jane and Dobiri couldn't hear, "If seeing your junk is your criteria for 'sleeping' with you, then you have also slept with Torley and that lanky otaku Fionn."

Jane gives O'Conner an inscrutable look at his invitation and his information, moving on to the African with a shake of her head, "Black Mamba recommended you sir, so I can assume that you are a capable to know.  I don't want you to put your other cargo at risk, but I am in a hurry.  If we can't fly, perhaps there is another way besides walking.  If there is someone you could recommend, you can keep your fee as my thanks for the introduction.

Innocent considers her words and says, "I know of a pirate's cove approximately 50 kilometers down the coast that makes runs into Lagos and Victoria Island all the time.  I can arrange to try and get you there, but passage will be your own problem."

Snow's investigation into local chatter easily confirms the shake-up in power that is going on at the Lagos Airport.  Several corps are broadcasting warnings to any of their incoming short hop commuter-copters to approach VI  low from the ocean and to circumvent the city entirely.  Most of the other incoming air traffic has been rerouted.

Jane looks to Clem and Torley to get their input.
