Looks like the next Shadows In Focus release has hit:

Dangers Below

One of the tricks of shadowrunning in the Sioux Nation is keeping your eye on the things you can’t see. It’s not just the spirits and the unseen magical beings of the world—though that’s part of it—but the dangers underground. The poisons seeping into the earth from abandoned mines, and the vast complex that has been built underground, out of sight of the rest of the population. A spot where money flows and the sun never shines—what more could shadowrunners want?

Butte is an addition to the Shadows in Focus: Sioux Nation series, detailing a new location for Shadowrun players, with character info, locations, background stats, and other game resources to bring exciting twists into your game. Dive into the unique shadows of the Sioux Nation and make sure you stay out of sight of the hidden dangers!

Butte can be used with the other Shadows in Focus: Sioux Nation books or all on its use, and is for use with Shadowrun, Fifth Edition.

This is going to be a great read. See how that SR world treats a place I and my friends spent a lot of time in. I think my genetics friend still has her third eye from living there for so many years :D

Well after having read this, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the native gripe ;D

The good: Some very creative ways of using the city. I enjoyed what they did with the Berkley Pit both magically and technically. Some of the transportation options just screamed amusement if you got some city slicker runners out for an adventure. Under Butte and the gangs pretty interesting as well.

The Bad: Writing was very dry. Didn't feel like it was a local talking, but more like a guy who came in, did a survey and got out. History wasn't well written as so much of Butte is from over 100 years ago and wasn't covered, it needed to be fleshed out more.

The Ugly: Some confusion in this book. Is Silver Bow County or Butte the reservation? Where's the local police as it seems like the SDF and Wildcats are the law in the town?

The native Montanan gripe: Shipping ore up the Helena for a flight out of town? Helena's got a regional airport as well. Bozeman has the international. Everyone thinks that state capitals are the big and important, whereas for us, it's a pretty bland little town that no one really pays attention to.

Overall: A good place to send your runners if you want to try some different kinds of runs and throw some unique challenges at your players.

I was a bit disappointed that the MADA's Butte AeroTec facility did not get mentioned at all as a possible point of interest.
With a name like that you had to wonder if they weren't tipping the hat a bit to the old FASA AeroTech.

So maybe it's gone, or maybe it got bundled into their testing area as the hybrid rocket tech could have a prototype the runners might get sent out to procure.

If you are down that way and you see something that looks like oversized power armor stomping around with Butte(L)Tech stamped across the front, watch out. :P

Out of curiosity, is the new Sioux life module a replacement for the NAN Sioux national life module in Run Faster, or is it a sub-choice for the Sioux, like Sioux is a sub-choice of the NAN national life module?

I would say sub-choice for those coming from that region as it is things like Montana Tech and Geomancy Education or Sioux Nation or being a member of one of the gangs local to that area.
