been wondering if you could take a RCC have a Sleaze attribute modification added and increased / Stealth and all that fun stuff then get an army of commlinks slaved to it that could have attack/sleaze dongles/modified to accept cyberprograms and run the commlinks like you do drones

you could mod an RCC with a sleaze attribute and then run cyberprograms on it to boost that rating. iirc you use stealth for +1 and exploit for a +2 on HOTF actions, so for placing marks, you'd have a limit of 4 which isn't too shabby. Sleaze 2 helps keep your drones running silent too which is nice and running the wrapper program can help them look innocuous enough that casual by-passers wouldn't be interested in their icons where running silent would raise questions.
The army of commlinks with agents is out there in another thread and it starts to get into "discuss it with your GM" territory. Even if it does work RAW, it might be frowned upon and really is fairly limited in use compared to just investing in decent skills, a deck and some software as the agents can't achieve as much as a skilled person can.

You cannot run hacking cyber programs on an RCC.

RCCs have a specific list of cyber programs that it can run which is listed in the on 269 SR5 Core. Waiting for SR6 or Rigger Book for expanded rules.

That is not an exclusive list.
It is just a list of cyberprograms that most riggers might or might not have use for.
"Here’s a list of handy programs"

RCCs have the ability to run cyberprograms, but since riggers normally don't have a sleaze nor attack rating this list does not include cyberprograms that require a sleaze or attack rating........

Man, that freakin' list gets so many people. To add to what Xenon is saying, the box only states that you must buy cyberprograms specifically for an RCC; in other words, no copying the deckers programs that were designed to run on cyberdecks.

And Hibiki, even if that list WAS exclusive, you'll note that more than half of the programs on that list are hacking programs.

Common: Encryption, Signal Scrub, Toolbox, Virtual Machine
Hacking: Armor, Biofeedback Filter, Guard, Shell, Sneak, Wrapper

Your point being? The core rulebook RCCs couldn't ever have a Sleaze or Attack attribute, so quite a few cyberprograms would be less useful for riggers for that reason alone. That doesn't change the fact that Hibiki's statement about Hacking programs (note the capitalization) is flat out wrong.

Add to that the fact that developers have confirmed on this very forum that RCCs can run all cyberprograms and even agents (as of the release of Data Trails), and this particular argument has absolutely no ground to stand on.

Again. The list is an example of good to have cyberprograms for a regular rigger. Why on earth would they list programs that require you to have an attack or sleaze matrix attribute as "good to have" cyberprograms for a rigger that normally don't have access to an attack or sleaze rating..... ::)

So you keep saying. What do you mean by that, though?

As Xenon and I have pointed out multiple times now, just because a program doesn't indirectly add to your Overwatch Score doesn't mean it isn't a Hacking program. The only distinction the core rulebook makes in terms of cyberprograms is to separate Common and Hacking programs. RCCs can run both, as confirmed by developers.

No program adds to OS simply by running them. Only actions do that. And since RCCs do not have either an attack or sleaze rating they can't really do actions that would start the countdown. (No, I do not allow Edge to circumvent hardware limits, no matter what Aron says).

If you mod a RCC to did they either then the countdown starts from the moment you commit an illegal action, not when you run programs
If Tom Brady’s a Spike Baby, what does that make Brees and Rodgers?
