Is there a general idea of using different forums for different things?  I peruse both Reddit and this one and was wondering if each has their own specialization.  Like ShadowGrid is good for Character Creation Tips, but Reddit is good for rules?  Or is it they are both good for everything?

I like to think that this forum is good for everything.  :P

Reddit has a wide user base, which provides for a lot of opinions and ideas.  But it's not as well-organized as this forum, and the community isn't as congruous.  Dumpshock has a LOT of people on it, but it tends to be like Mos Eisley from my experience.  "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."  That's just my opinion though, it's certainly nowhere near universal.

Reddit ... I look at reddit as being good for maybe getting a quick answer to a question that you want to ask, but that you don't care to have hang around for forever, the way it would here.  That said, I very rarely look at the reddit.

Dumpshock gets painted with too broad a brush sometimes.  There are some people who will rant about things - sometime with good reason, sometimes not.  But there are a lot of helpful people over there, too.  They have not embraced the new edition as wholeheartedly, and right now the forums are a bit slow, but they are still a good resource if you want house rules, game aids, or to tap into a pool of general Shadowrun knowledge.

You have to go there at least once. :P
Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

I'm not knocking Dumpshock....that much.  You're right there are very nice and helpful folks over there, they just seem to get over shadowed by the angry folks.

I was intrigued enough to check out Gamer's Den.  After finding the 20-something page "I hate Shadowrun" thread (nothing compared to the "I hate Pathfinder" thread) I read someone's rant about Patrol IC finding your earbuds (impossible for fairly obvious reasons) and left.

I gave up waiting for posting rights to be granted after a few weeks.

I don't find it as easy to read as here, as there are often arguments over issues where two sides are talking about different editions.
