Hi!

I'm an old time tabletop RPG player and I love everything cyberpunk; unfortunately all my experience with Shadowrun so far is an online story and the videogame Shadowrun Returns.

That said, I have the 5th edition rulebook and the quick start rules, and I'm more than willing to learn.

Any chance I can join a PbP game where my character isn't going to be torn apart too soon? I have this idea for an elf decker with a "daddy's girl gone bad" vibe.

The 2075 persistent world campaign is always open for recruitment. Besides that, I don't think any if the others are recruiting.

If you are an old hat at RPGs why not start your own PbP? Grab yourself some of the older edition fluff books and mod something up. If you are looking for the crash course of Shadowrun, i would suggest the 6th world almanac. It is an entire book of SR history and location information. There are also several skilled GMs and PbP runners here on the threads that I'm sure would be happy to let you bounce ideas off of. Though i suggest using PMs so your players don't come across any spoilers ;)

While I'm not a super veteran, i have run a few home games. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss any game ideas!

We are not doing 5e, but if you are interested in trying 4e, which is different, our PbP group (New Beginnings) is looking for a matrix support specialist.  If you have a strong character concept that is a lot more important than nuts and bolts, and we can walk you through the rest.

I'm also looking for a game, and down to help start something.  I've played a bit of 4e and glanced over the 5e book, though Chummer still has me hooked of 4e :)

Also an old hat at table top games...well, oldish...I've run a LOT of non-SR games and am hoping to retire into actually playing...but you know how that goes...

That said, I'm really more into games with actual role playing, where in character decisions are more important than gear or stats...you know, the gritty games where the setting feels alive and you bite your nails for four hours and then can't believe you have to wait a whole week before you can do it all over again :)

I know just the feeling. If we find a bunch of newbies, we can still try playing through the old, now free, missions.
