Okay, so was asked by one of our players to make a character for him (he does not like making characters...).  All he knew is that he wanted something to fill in gaps and good with a sword.  Decided on a fairly strait Sammy

Our group tends to be fairly balanced between Black Leather and Pink Mohawks.. Also a 10-12 die pool seems normal for us (Our Face throws 10 dice, most combat skills 12).  Our group tends to be a lot of Something/Sammy so something this strait forward...

I am overall happy with him, but still struggling with his Knowledge based skills, also not sure about the whole Bushido thing, seems so cliché

The Bushido thing is cliche, and it doesn't really fit with the rest of the character.  Why would someone growing up in the Ork Underground want to emulate a culture that sent people like him to Yomi Island for no other reason than being a metahuman?  I would go with his ork roots instead, and make it more of an orkish machismo / "Hez" sort of thing.

Fascination with foreign cultures by people or persons that would, by and large, not be accepted into said foreign culture? I'd assume this exists in both the real world and sixth world.

If you change synaptic booster 2 to alpha wired reflexes1+used reaction enhancers3 combo you'll have a lot of money to spend. A street samurai can use some more ware.
Biotech skill group is not something that you want unless you are planning to be a surgeon or something. If it is there for his cyberarm maintenance you can just pick an appropriate knowledge skill, get Athletics instead. For first aid, change armorer 3 to first aid 3.
Cybereyes are only doing harm, he loses his lowlight vision. Implant smartlink into his natural eyes and use contacts for image link.
This guy could also use a shield, a vehicle and a better commlink.

If you are going to call yourself a samurai, you should know what that actually means. And Bushido is the whole life of a samurai, so it does make sense.

I'll note that the Street Samurai archetype in the book, whatever his financial issues, is an Ork with Code of Honor: Bushido.  The Warrior's Code is clearly defined in the book--for all intents and purposes, that's what Bushido means to a character who takes it.  If he wants to roleplay things like makoto, then great, but we ironically risk proving his point about fascination with foreign cultures by falling over ourselves in attempts to out-Japanese one another.

Any reason you're using the jumpsuit over a standard armor jacket?  Every die counts!

I'd pick up some non-explosive ammo for your Ingram as well.  It's all well and good to suppress the noise of firing the gun, but nothing (outside of a Silence spell) is going to suppress the sound of an explosive round hitting its target.  As a GM, I love reminding players of this  ;D

A thought on your choice of pistols, from the looks of things  you're rolling 9 dice, and thus averaging 3 hits, why not trade in some surplus ammo capacity and excess accuracy for a heavy pistol to get some additional damage and armor penetration?

******************

Hiro's a sword prodigy that was brought up in the Shiawase corporation as a true samurai, embracing the ideals of Bushido and the blade over all else. He served loyaly for years until his superior ordered him to do something that clashed with his personal honor. With great reluctance, he refused that order, then bailed on the corporation as a whole, unable to serve an honorless master any longer. On teh streets, his rigid code and corporate bearing make him an easy markletting peopl eknow at a glance what they're dealing with. (Of course, the downside is that he's easy to find. Fortunately he didn't break ties with Shiawase violently, but he *did* break ties and, someday, they'll come afte rthe debt he owes._

A few side notes.

His helmet is very stylized, a proper Japanese samurai kabuto with a mempo (faceplate), the entire thing stylized like an Oni. He only wears it when things get serious, as it's teh final piece of a samurai's armor. With it off, he tries to avoid fights when possible, but once it's donned, he's a merciless murder machine.

He's unusual in that he never got his eyes replaced. An artist at heart, he can't abide the notion of losing his natural vision. He's not a very good artist, having had little time in the past to practice, but now with more free time, he's starting to find time to enjoy himself. As his old sensei used to say, "Calligraphy is like swordplay. Once a stroke is made, it cannot be retracted. You must steady your hand and only strike when you know your aim is true.)

While ambidextrous, he rarely fights with Katana and Wakizashi (the sword), but instead fights with a Katana in his right hand and a pistol in his left, keeping him from having to swap between them in a fight. His relationship with Shiawase is complex and confusing, with an ingrained loyalty and love for the corp but a hatred for the lies, betrayal, and dishonorable behavior that he can now see where once he sheltered his eyes.

Hiro's picked up a handful of basic skills from being along side many a Mr Johnson as a guard, and now is having to learn Shadorunning skills, which grate at him. His belief in Bushido rubs against his practical need for stealth.
