Ah, I think the regents are the way to go then.

But yeah vagueness of wording, some GMs might go "You have to have both hands free to cast spells." or some such.

I kind of like the image of reagents dangling off the violin or tied to the back of the bow, fizzling away as they are consumed though.

Yes on the asking your GM. I can understand a rule that one needs 1 hand or both hands, but if one's music is the only way one can cast spells then I wouldn't see it as a problem. Definitely a Rule of Cool thing.

Lindsy is totally the inspiration of the character on this too. Especially crystallized, with its a semi-dub step-esc effects, I could totally see it being mind bending illusions that warp perceptions badly for the foes.
