Help with MysAd Mage-Hunter?

What do y'all think about making a low priority dedicated mage hunter? I Initially wanted to make him a priority D sorcerer, but MysAd seems like it will work better. The concept is an active member of a group like Humanis (anti-awakened instead of anti-meta), but I'm not sure what that group would be. Later in life he awakens and is ostracized from the group when hes found out.

He tries to keep his cool, but ends up freaking out and replacing his arm. He literally plans to cut the magic out of himself. He later realizes that hes still the same he was before. Awakening didn't change him from who he was. He still doesn't trust most awakened, so he specializes what powers he has towards combating the awakened.

This character is made with prime runner level priorities. (I didn't select a SIN or Licenses yet).

I don't know how good the spells are, but they seemed useful for the amount of force I have available.

How much use really is Astral Combat when you can't project & will have decent sorcery skill ranks,  in theory ?
Max force of 4 ?   I'm showing Max of 3/6 based on your D-Magic & E-Human if you use that point in Magic.

One thing you'll need to remember is you get 0 spells as an Aspected Magician so you'll need to be spending some Karma if you have any intent on casting anything at all.

Whoops. I forgot that aspected magicians can't project :p. Which is cool, I like that better. I can pick up a martial art for a melee skill and take Neijia. Lots of flavor right there! Maybe add a force 1 or 2 weapon focus to go with it. Maybe not. Like I said, I'm not really intending to take any spells. However, if one might be useful to mage hunting I might consider it. Maybe Levitate? Being aspected is mostly flavor with the added bonus of counterspelling and astrally perceiving for this guy. Definitely no ritual spell casting, and only maybe spellcasting.

This idea is cool for:
-Oculd investigator
-Infiltrator
-Magic Support

Just use some low force spells, ie magic fingers, levitation, phantasm. Such spells can distract your oponent, and give you levrage on battlefield even if they are cast on low force. Oh, so this PC would fit well in combat? Use increase refloexes, just on force 2 or 4 will be enought for 1 or 2 D6 for your INI, should be enought.

Health and detection spells, some of manipulation spells. And mentor spirit is a mast have, to get some CC bonus.  Counterspelling is fine, and yet another must have is a weapon focus, to fight spirits properly.

I'm not sure if touch attacks can be made with weapons, I'm hoping they can be. If they can't be, then I would drop Neijia for a force 2 weapon foci.

I also really like the idea of heal + reflex + maybe levitate. Keep Iaijutsu, Finishing move and neijia (or drop neijia for power focus) and grab those three spells. That would require readjusting my skill points though.

(Neijia is a will vs will touch attack vs spirits that imposes Cha + Hits dv. Performing the attack causes you to resist stun damage equal to spirits total hits from defense. Resist test is hermetic or shaman for mages, will + cha for mundane.)

Edit: Although Neijia can be used while engulfed, so that could still be useful

I'm wondering how stuck you are on being a Sorcerer.
Have you considered going Conjurer instead ?
You won't have to buy spells....... ever.
And then instead of you casting & hating yourself, maybe instead the spirits like you & respond when you need help.
Or better yet, because you "hate" the awakened, BINDING those spirits might be a secret perverse joy for you.

Something to think about.

Also, consider dropping Blades for Unarmed & then make your Weapon Focus some Cyber-Spurs.  (Yes, its legal, there are canon examples of it).
This also allows you to use Shock Gloves to take down enemies non-lethally.

Given your background, I think those 2 changes above would really create an interesting concept.

As for your stats, I would go with the following.
B3, A4, R4, S3
W5, L2, I5, C6
I think you'll get much better results that way.

Well, I liked the utility of counterspelling. It lets him defend his friends from magic, and break spells apart. So it also has pretty good flavor :-). I think I like your stat changes. If Neijia can't be used any way but unarmed, I might go ahead and switch to cyberspurs. I also have a second build I'm working on that reverses my stat and attribute priorities, and it uses the close combat group 6 instead of blades 6.

I like Wudang Sword a lot for this guy. Iaijutsu lets you quickdraw and attack with your sword for a simple action. Now that your sword is drawn, you can perform finishing move for one attack, and if that attack hits you can roll for a second attack. That kind of screams mage-hunter to me haha. Of course if your sword was already drawn, you can use finishing move without Iaijutsu. I just like the synergy it has. It's definitely the kind of style someone who wants to quickly deal with an unarmored foe would take.

The other moves, one of which actually does require unarmed, emphasize mobility and reach. So if you can get close to the mage, but not close enough, you still have options. Then there's the standard riposte for the pesky guys who get in your way that try to smack you :D. Oh, you're going to punch me? Riposte + stab! Nope.

I edited the OP. I think I have him where I want him. What do you guys think? I've never made a MysAd or Mage before :p. Granted, Im sure hes not going to be as good as a sam or a gunbunny, but he also has some utility. Also, I think that laser gun will be fun if anyone gets within short or medium SMG range :D.
