Currently in a rather big group getting into shenanigans in Seoul.  Literally everyone is a human.

* Well meaning decker and absolute sell out who doesn't realize it.  Has a mohawk and a penthouse.  Basically the worst neo-anarchist ever.  Cyberarm covered in LED lights and other garish decorations.  National SINner.  Me!
* Adorable/Terrifying ex-mob kid turned street sammy.  Cybersnout, scooter, and endless enthusiasm.  Has a shotgun in one arm, a spur in the other.  Decent chef.  Has legitimately used the cybersnout more then should probably be possible.  Currently roommates with my decker.
* Psychopath street sammy with, like, .2 essence left.  Takes jobs so he can be paid to murder.  Has a thing for "hunting."  Skilled in melee combat and personal assassination (poison is cheating)
* Former SK corp-man with a burned SIN.  Buttering up our current employer to be a full time man in hopes of getting back into the good life.  Technically specializes in assault rifles, gets far more use out of the rocket launcher.  Champion of property damage.
* Cat shaman who disappeared for a long while and thus I don't have a really good grasp on the character.
* Eagle Fairy Bul Shaman Mudang.  Specializes in air spirits.  Worked under our current employer before us, and is thus more loyal to said employer then he is to us.  Allergic to beef, the poor bastard.
* SORTA social adept who doesn't seem to be around much.  Hates my decker for unknown reasons.  Claims to want less lethal approaches, then whines at the decker who tries to keep things subtle and quiet while being best friends with Mr Property Damage.

Characters haven't been made yet, but I know what my players want to be.

Human gunslinger adept. A slight change from the usual brawler adept.
Troll tank. His previous edition versions have bounced assault cannon rounds with a smile.
Human? Rigger/assassin. Not sure how this will go. Need more vehicle mods.

No Mage, no hacker, no face. Slightly worried about survivabilty.
Stay calm and aim carefully

I'm GMing for a group made up entirely of gamers that are new to Shadowrun.

Brock Brannigan - Troll "punching adept".
Brody Brannigan - Brock's brother, Cybered-up Gun specialist.
Dvorak - Ork Technomancer.
Redline - Human Rigger.
Bram - Human Aspected Sorcerer, specializing in illusions.
Chimera - Former Ares Company Man/Covert ops specialist
Chimera - There are actually 2 Chimeras - identical twins/clones, who present themselves as the same person, but are played by 2 different players depending on who can make it that week.

My Season 5 Missions group gets split into two tables as we keep picking up new people. But the pool my co-GM and I serve looks something like this:
  • Human ex-ganger street samurai
  • Troll physical adept
  • Elf shaman
  • Elf smuggler/wheelman
  • Ork street samurai (new player)
  • Human mystic adept (played by our resident munchkin)
  • Another human mystic adept
  • Elf decker
  • Elf technomancer
  • And whomever else walks up to the table tonight :D

My missions game at the shop changes week to week as people come and go with their schedules. There are about twenty players all together, but never more than six to eight show up in a night really.

My home game looks like this:
Eyes Raven Shaman that tends to find a sniper perch and assist from a distance. (Human)
Hackey-sack A teenage hacker with a tendency to cause more annoyance with pranks than actual damage. (Human)
John Doe An infiltration specced Street Sam that manages to fool the group with his disguises. (Human)
Stilleto A classy elf infiltration specced physical adept. Better face skills than John, but not quite a face still. (Elf)
Tim A heavy weapons troll that spends more time in the van than anything else. (Troll)
Wire A grouchy dwarf face with a bit of a drug problem. Packs a handcannon in his suit, but his biggest weapon is his massive contact list. (Dwarf)

They don't really have a specialty. They adapt to pretty much any situation they're put in.

Let me check my SR4 group...

Elf Face, sneaky and gunny.
Elf Techno Sprite-user that spies on his teammates too much.
Gnome Combat Mage without any social ability whatsoever.
Human Manipulation Mage.
Human 0.04 Essence Cyberlimber Weapon-nut.
Ork sneaky disguisy adept SMG Gunbunny with a mean streak.
And a Dwarven Street Sam Tank that rarely makes it.
How am I not part of the forum?? O_O I am both active and angry!

Look, just because I easily go into conflict/combat mode doesn't mean I have a mean strea- oh. This is about the gloating at the misery of people I don't like, and the torture and murder, isn't it? Nevermind.
Also, you left out my motorcycle skills - while most people just sit in the group van, I have my own run-vehicle and am capable of using it well, which has more added value than you'd think.

I just want to say how jealous I am of you all for having groups and games going right now.  It makes me a sad panda.

Also, dwarves rule.  Every time I make a new character for fun I want it to be a dwarf.

I only have time to run limited online games, or I would offer.. however, over at the Forums of the table I use, there have been others popping up looking for more Shadowrun interest.
http://www.gametableonline.com/welcome.php  That is the link to the table.. free to use, many of us hang in the forums and can help with the learning curve...

As a moderator of the boards, I have an interest in seeing more people use the table, specially for non-D&D games (which is was originally developed, and formatted for)..  if more people play more varied games, we might be able to convince them to give it a little love in the way of programming and formatting for other games.

Quebec - Elf Street Sam (sniper, pistols, monowhips and racing bikes), and the party's disguise specialist / Face.  Born in a cloning lab.  Thrill seeker and too curious for her own good.  Has something to prove to herself.

Ghost - Human Vehicle and Drone Rigger.  Has a newly aquired helicoptor and several loaded out rotodrones / steel lynxes.  Has a (mostly) legit delivery business using his van, but his day job is great cover for his shadowrunning career.  Brims over with luck.

Vostok - Human Communist Decker - Chromed out with two cyberarms (one has his deck, the other a hidden shotgun).  Wears an armored jacket covered in CCCP and Cosmonaut patches.  Lives in a commune, more rage-against-the-machine than hippie.  Dating the party-girl sister of a simsense star.  Experiments with combat drugs.

Takako (Taco) - Human Street Samurai - a real tank.  Using SMGs, mostly, and totally focused on armor and defense.  Her sister was a street doc that had to torch her business to hide evidence after Taco kidnapped a Knight Errant detective outside her business.  Taco's sister works for a "high class" drug dealer now.

Chaucer - Human Coyote mystic adept, boxing announcer turned runner Face
Duke - Ork merc longarms specialist with lots of used 'ware, a grudge against ARES for putting it in him and some mental instability (me).
Knucks - Ork phys adept boxer turned runner, with an Irish mentor spirit called Mickey (Mountain iirc).
'Spider' - Human native american Spider (wolf iirc) Shaman, decent all round

Obviously non-existent Matrix ability and rather more awakened than normal.

Ah well, we are a little Group and switched from 2nd/3rd Edition to 5th earlier this Year.

Our Runs are mostly "street-level" with a bit Organized Crime (we tend to get hired by the Yakuza a lot).

Female Elf Adept - Got Blackmailed and kicked out of her house - into the shadows. Very good Face and our Teamleader most of the time.

Male Human Ex-Military - Treats every job very seriously and seems to never smile.

Male Troll Mage - The newest addition to the Team. I don't know much of his backstory, but he loves manipulation Spells. Doesn't have an easy life, because we have one Character who hates Trolls and another who hates Mages.

Male Human Street-Sam - (Me) Ex-Con Security, tried to get a few extra nuyen with smuggling, which backfired. Hates Mages for his life. Does what he does best: Shooting and standing Guard, while no legal employer wants him.

And another Male Human Street Sam - He comes from the street, never left the street, one could say he IS the Street. He is loud, rude and has a tendency to create the biggest carnage possible. Also never listens to orders. Every other character shot him at least once, on purpose. And he hates trolls.

So our team probably isn't very effective and right now we have no Matrix-characters (which will change as soon as my technomancer is completed.) and we often get far away from the original plot (we completely shipwrecked Splintered State) but it's always fun.

Our current game is as follows:

Female elf technomancer (me)
Male human gunslinger adept
Male human bear shaman
Female elf physical adept
Female elf face adept

We're a very heavily magical team.  Even the non-magical person is still, after a fashion, magical.  We also sometimes have a male dwarf street sam join us, though.  We've been kind of on hold, though, as 2/3 of the elf brigade lives across the state and haven't been able to join us in a while.

Dwarf Mage (Druid) - Force multiplier incarnate, both with spells as fire support. Our only mage, which makes it a shame he habitually forgets to assense. Will probably double in power the moment he decides to figure out summoning rules.
Elven Hacker - The newbie of the group, he... Doesnt really understand the rules.
Elven Driver - Doubles as the face. Decent on all fronts, though that cybershotgun is gonna bite her in the ass one of these days.
Human Adept - A wannabe ronin. Bought about half the available guns in the corebook, has never touched any other weapon but a katana since. Fancies him a snowflake swordmaster. He'll learn what side of the close combat foodchain he is soon enough though :D
