One suggestion: i'd take 1 rank of Etiquette if i were you. May be helpful if your character wants to talk to people.

One support spell I've found quite helpful during Missions is Clairvoyance: cast it on the group member with the most Perception dice (and ideally, thermographic vision), and they'll be able to use it to basically look through walls and doors. It's less useful if cast on yourself, due to sustaining penalties.

My current character is damn near based around clairvoyance and magic fingers.Nothing like an assault rifle fling behind cover to wreck your day.  wireless enabled smartgun would do the trick as well for that particular gimmick but magic fingers+clairvoyance has a range of other options.
