So let me get this straight: (Willpower + Logic) is good for memorization and recall rolls but Willpower gets thrown under the bus the minute a technical skills is involved that you have to do from memory? Seems a bit fishy and arbitrary to me. Shouldn't it be something like (Willpower + Logic)/2 [round up?] instead of just logic alone when working from memory?

Willpower essentially represents trying to force yourself to remember something, which would actually be worse than useless in a technical context and in fact be a hinderance, due to the flaws inherent in human memory.

There is a difference between remembering a fact, face, or concept; and trying to recall a learned process.
Totally different parts of the brain.
