Many regular posters here are fully aware of Eclipse Phase. Adam Jury, one of the primary designers of EP, was the primary layout guru and freelancer for much of Shadowrun 4. I know I've got all of the books so far on PDF, but the setting has just a bit too much of a mental stretch for me to wrap my head around easily so I haven't played it at all (CharGen is a big hiccup for me, so I'm hoping the upcoming Transhuman will be a help in that regard).

Played it extensively. It suffers from not knowing what it wants to do.

It's almost like being dropped into the real world, with no set goal in front of you. You could be a cop, warehouse worker, reporter, etc. It can be a struggle for GMs, but it's definitely a struggle for players, as the group will always suffer from characters not being on the same page.
I was permanently banned from the forums for consistently attacking my fellow posters and trolling the boards. I thought I could get "revenge" on FastJack for being banned by updating my sig to insult him, but all it proved was how much of an idiot I am.

The wide open-ness is one of the things I like about it. The setting and the art are killer. Likewise, I have what there is of it in pdf and, at some point, I'm determined to acutally get around to doing something with it. Other things on my plate atm though.

I really enjoy the concepts it employs. I don't like resleeving, however. Also the exoplanets are just darling. I would vacation on Sunrise if I could.

We played it and...

we had some big trouble with the currency and favor systems
(wait... you can get anything for free when you have big rep with anarchs?)

we had some big trouble with a (I think) premade intro campaign which went a little bit like:
"no you don't know that aliens exist, no you don't no nothing about some big ominous group that helps people defend our galaxy from them, yes you ofcourse have various points of reputation with said group, because you have pregens"

and... my first self created char had an effective skill of 135 for melee (youre trying to get below this with a d100)
We abandoned the system relatively quickly, because of the campaign/gm.

I'ld like to give it another shot, but a) with different people b) with an hour to talk about specific rule and setting based problems, before even starting to make characters
