I prefer using a controller, but they're unfortunately worse on games that require fine accuracy.  Keyboard and mouse is always the last option for me, but I do it if it's necessary.
Remember, you don't have to kill the vehicle to stop it, just kill the guy driving it.

Sorry about that. I just meant that in our generation, it was rare for people preferring game controler over keyboard.
I used to have a console, but for most pc games I could not use anything else than kb...
I remember playing the X-wing and TIE Fighter games with the joystick where the keyboard usually was, and the keyboard off to the side, doing the throttle, weapon select, and other things one handed as I continued to fly. Wish they still made flight sim games that were worth a damn.

This.

I did the same thing with an old BattleTech game on the Kesmai network, BattleTech Online: Solaris. Except I had to use a mouse since it was a university computer I logged on from. Right hand mouse, left hand number pad and function keys.

I've heard/read small hints that one of the things that the Disney/EA partnership is working on for Star Wars games is a new X-Wing (which was also, incidentally, my very first PC game). I hope it doesn't suck.  8)

It's out now.  Who is getting it?  What systems?

I'm going to get it for PC right now, myself.

Got it for the PC and am as bad as I remember. I spent a fortune on quarters in these two games. Definitely need a controller the keyboard controls are driving me nuts.
REJOICE! For bad things are about to happen.

Why play this when Neverwinter Online was released this week?  D&D, MMO, free...

D&D Arcade vs. D&D MMO. Both D&D, aside from that rather different games.

Absolute power is kinda neat.

I like and play Neverwinter Online, but...  yeah.  Two very different game experiences.

That's like asking why play Shadowrun tabletop if there's the Shadowrun X-Box game available. :)

I'm probabaly going to pick this up myself soon.

As someone who played the ORIGINAL nwn (1 and 2, plus all the expansions) for the PC and is used to the the unlimited character options that SHOULD be part of a good D&D experience, I can not play the nwn mmo and it's steel walled cookie cutter classes.
Where am I going? And why am I in a hand basket ???

Just picked the arcade game up on steam. Will play it later today.  Nothing like a bit of brainless hack n slash

To be honest, I had it.  And even like dit for what it was.  I wasn't Shadowrun, but it was an interesting take on the Counterstrike-style of game.

And if/when I get the D&D game, it'll be Steam PC, since my XBox has been a paperweight for over a year now.

No, come play Neverwinter Online with me, instead!  I'm up a level 9 cleric at the moment, having a blast doing foundry quests.  I've barely even touched the actual storyline quests.
