When LARPers Go Bad!

Due to personal issues, all of my planned games are on hold until further notice. However, I still have an idea that I think will be a lot of fun, even if I can't run it myself. So, I'm posting it here.

Marvin Black is a tall, skinny human who is irredeemably nerdy. He's also a LARPer, and a shaman. Several months ago, Marvin was bitten by a Loup Garou. He survived, but became a carrier of HMHVV Strain II. The agony of fighting off the illness, and his shame at becoming a carrier drove poor Marvin over the edge. He went toxic and began following the toxic totem, Disease.

Now the frightening and terrible Narghuul the Plaguebearer (A.K.A. Marvin) has taken up residence in the old abandoned Renaissance Faire grounds outside of Seattle. In the few months since he became a carrier, he has used his shamanic charisma to prey on the mentally unsound LARPers of his former group and infect them. He has now started sending out his menagerie of Strain II infected to capture and infect the remaining members of the LARP group, who shunned Narghuul after discovering he was a carrier.

Now Narghuul has captured the daughter of a high ranking politico, who has hired the runners to get his daughter back by any means necessary.

Stats for Narghuul and his infected will be coming shortly.

1) Most of them, but not all. There are a few who are resisting his influence and can help the runners (mostly by giving a map of the old faire grounds).

2) Yes, and she is unrecognizable, but not because she's dressed up in LARP garb.  ;)

Quite frankly at that point it'd probably be more merciful to just kill the poor kid rather than subject her to whatever her father will do when he finds out she's now Infected.  Tell the politico that she was dead when the team got there.

Basically. Unfortunately Strain II is highly infectious. She's surrounded by a carrier and a bunch of other infected. For her to walk away from it without getting infected herself is...unlikely at best.

Strain 2 requires you to take infected bodily fluids internally. For normal situations, that means being bitten / scratched hard enough to break skin, or for the Infected to bleed into an open wound.

Also, you have a subscription to the free public grid.

She's surrounded by Loup Garou, and is a corp kid with virtually no combat skills outside of bashing people over the head with her boffer staff. Which, admittedly, can hurt, but rarely does any real damage.

How long do you think it'll take for her to get attacked by a feral one? Or for the carrier to pin her down, cut her arm, then cut himself and bleed into her wound?

What to do with the girl once they find her will make for a nice moral quandary. What might make a nice interesting twist is that she's been infected, worships Marvin and doesn't even -want- to go home....
