[Resource] [Critters] Paracritters for 5th. Rabbits, hedgehogs and more

Here are a list of some of my paracritters updated for 5th edition.With the exception of the Abrams lobster the rest are critters that I created for various runs.
For GMs trying to figure out how many of these paracritters there are they follow the normal 0.01% of all critters are awakened.

Please let me know if there are suggestions or issues.


Elil-Hrair-Rah aka Prince with a Thousand Enemies (Awakened Rabbit)

Notes:
Elil-Hrair-Rah are physically slightly larger than normal rabbits and are all jet black in color. They are the guardians of their warrens and prize trickery and guile over direct confrontation. Elil-Hrair-Rah have the Sapience quality and are full shamans. They can astral project, counterspell and banish/conjure spirits. They also can learn spells, perform rituals, build lodges and create wards, but the thought is somewhat foreign to them and they rarely do so in the wild. While being astrally perceived they are capable of communication with metahumans.

Notes: Venus Swans are awakened swans that are roughly 3/4th the size of normal swans. They are unearthly beautiful creatures that have an iridescent glow that shifts through an entire spectrum of soft colors. What makes them especially prized is the fact that they make those around them more beautiful as well. Some say this is because they are agents of the goddesses of love and beauty, while others say that it is because they are so vain they cannot stand to have ugliness around them. They are in very high demand amongst the ultra-rich, both because of their beauty and powers, but also their rarity. Their dependence on pure spring water means that they are only found in the wildest of places or captivity. A healthy specimen can sell for 200,000¥ to as much as 1,000,000¥ depending on the market and the buyer.

Notes: The Calydonian Boar is a massive boar (2 meters at the shoulder and 4 meters from tip of snout to tip of tail) with a craggy hide that is impervious to most weapons. The boar is highly aggressive and territorial and will attack anything that it perceives as a threat without hesitation.


Chrysomallos aka The Golden Fleece (Awakened Sheep)

Notes: The Chrysomallos is a massive ram (they are always male) that has giant wings and a thick coat of hair made completely of gold. They stand 5ft tall at the shoulder and there wingspan is 20ft from tip to tip. They are intensely freedom loving and hate to be confined or penned in. They are revered in Greece as they are considered to be holy animals blessed by Poseidon. They are exceedingly rare and are born to normal sheep. They mature quickly and attain their full size and powers within 9 months after birth.

Once per month the critter creates the equivalent of 5,000¥ of a valuable substance. This can be a goose that lays golden eggs, a sheep with golden fleece or even a frog that coughs up diamonds. The wealth is permanent and real, but does carry the "signature" of the creature that created it.

Notes: Hedgepigs are a quasi-paranormal version of the common European hedgehog. They are only slightly larger than a standard hedgehog and are primarily insectivores (30-40cm in length and weighing 2kg). They are unusual because of their ability to effectively raise the background count around them by drawing it into themselves in a manner similar to photosynthesis. Many biologists believe that this is adaptation is linked to the higher than average magical activity and as a defense against the many paranormal predators in the British Isles; similar to the evolution of the Fomori offshoot of the common troll. This combined with their natural territoriality and relatively small foraging area can lead to large swaths of land being “destroyed” when a large colony takes root.

This feature has led to a unique situation where many mundane people welcome them and feed them to help insure that they remain close to their homes. By contrast those who use magic find them to be extremely annoying and try to trap and kill as many as possible before they can warp the astral space in an area. This can often lead to conflict between Mundane and Awakened individuals over their habitat.

Several corporations that specialize in technology have started to use them around there facilities as a cheap form of astral security and pest control, but the hindrance that they provide is not generally worth it.

Notes: The Abrams Lobster is an awakened lobster found off the coasts of the North Sea. They measure 2.5 meters in length and can easily weigh more than 100Kg and have a distinctive deep blue/blue-gray coloring. They are heavily armored and equipped with massive claws able to cut open even the toughest of ship armor. They are aggressive and territorial with very little in the way of intellect or cunning. Some corporations have attempted to use them for security purposes; however they are not easily trained or contained. They are rare in the wild, but fortunately they are not hunted for their meat as it is rancid and has a strong ammonia odor. They are as durable and combat capable as the tank they are named after.
