So like so many things in SR, I noticed something about what I thought was simple but now raises questions.
On the "Karma Advancement Table for Attributes" CRB p107 it ranks attributes up to 11, noting that those are in parentheses and that:
"Numbers in parentheses () are only availiable to characters with the correct quality."
Now with only the CRB there is only one way to increase your attribute top limit and that's with Exceptional Attribute. However the subsequent books open up more possibilities to increase your attribute limit.
So here's my question. Can a Troll use Genetic Optimisation on their Body/Strength when at 10 attribute?
It technically isn't a quality, so...?
Augmented maximum is something different, however genetic modification isn't an augment but instead changes the limit.
Could they take both?
On another seperate note note, I've always been told that magic is a self sustaining increase. Initiation raises your natural limit. Would this too apply to magic as it is an attribute like any other (granted reaching that high in magic is unlikely, but academically).
