A new update of the Shadowrun 5 files for Hero Lab is now available from the automatic updates mechanism within Hero Lab.

This update adds the Sum to Ten character creation system to Run Faster, as a free update for all our users who already own Run Faster.

The alternate campaign options from the core rulebook (like Street Scum and High Life) have also been added as a free update for all of our users.

Three new supplement books have also been added. Lockdown and Shadows in Focus: Butte have been added to the existing Supplements #2 package. This package is available for $4.99, and already contains Shadows in Focus: Sioux Nation, The Vladivostok Gauntlet, Nothing Personal, and Sail Away, Sweet Sister. The book Ten Terrorists only contains NPCs, and those NPCs have been added as a free update for all our users. They can be found in the Encounter Builder, which is in the Gamemaster menu.

We've also gotten the chance to fit in some minor pieces of useful information - damage overflow and natural recovery have been added to the damage tracks that allow them, and fatigue resistance is now displayed on the Armory summary and printout.

In the editor, several tools for implementing house rules have been added - users now have access to the picks that store various constants like the quality limits, or the maximum availability of gear to starting characters, so that you can change those values. The editor can now also access the amount of resources offered by the Resources Priority A selection, or the number of skill group points offered by Skills Priority C, etc., which means that users can house rule those values.

Here's the complete change list for this update:
New Releases!

The opposition from Ten Terrorists has been added to the encounter builder as a free update for all users.
Content from Shadows in Focus: Butte is now available in the Supplements Package #2! You can purchase this by choosing "Purchase Data Package" from the License menu.
Content from Lockdown is now available in the Supplements Package #2! You can purchase this by choosing "Purchase Data Package" from the License menu.

Enhancements & Changes

The Sum To Ten character creation system from Run Faster has been added as a free update for everyone with the Run Faster package.
The five Alternate Campaign options from pages 350-351 of the Core rulebook have been added as a free update for all users. Note that for the Military or Mercenary campaign option, since the gear rules offer several ideas, what's been implemented is to triple the nuyen offered by each resources option a character can select. If you want to use assigned gear instead (in that campaign or in the DocWagon campaign), I recommend selecting the assigned gear, and then using the character creation nuyen adjustment to add or remove enough cash that you come out even.
An adjustment for Character Creation Priority Points has been added to the permanent adjustments table on the Personal tab. This can be used to change the number of points available when using character creation systems like Sum To Ten, so that you can have Sum To Eleven or Sum to Nine.
An adjustment for Character Creation Nuyen has been added to the permanent adjustments table on the Personal tab. This changes the amount of resources you receive for character creation, adding to or subtracting from the nuyen granted by the Resources selection.
Condition Monitors that have overflow now display the amount of overflow on the In-Play tab and on the printout.
The Physical, Stun and Core condition monitors now display the dicepool and interval for natural recovery tests. Qualities, gear and other things that alter these dicepools (such as symbiotes bioware or the quick healer quality) now apply their effects to the dicepools.
Fatigue Resistance is now displayed among a character's specialty damage resistances on the Armory summary and the Damage Resistances section of the printout. Qualities, gear and other things that apply to fatigue (like sleep regulator bioware or the Sustenance adept power) now apply their effects to the dicepool.

Bug Fixes

NPCs were not able to select the various AI races.
The Prototype Transhuman quality was not recognizing any bioware. I apologize for not getting this quality fixed correctly in the last update - in fact, I made the error worse, and I'm sorry about that.
Bioweaponry could not add the Prototype Transhuman modification.
The Presence metamagic was adding to the skill's rating, but should simply add to the dicepool.
If a respirator or other face-covering item was added as a modification of a helmet that covers the entire head (like a hardened mil-spec battle armor helmet), an error would be reported that you had two face coverings.
The Adept Way qualities were not applying a discount to powers that don't have a variable rating.
Magical Lodge Materials now offer a space for the user to specify the tradition.
The drug Nightwatch was showing up as an audio modification.
The number of rituals allowed for a spellcasting-capable character was showing as 0, rather than Magic * 2.
The Pilot attribute was not being added to the dicepools of the skills a drone gains through autosofts.
The laser weapons were missing the "No Recoil" setting.

Data File Authoring

A new "Tools" grouping has been added, and the Defense Rolls, Resources, Selection Helper, Simple, and Tracker tabs have been moved from General to Tools. The items in this group are not added directly by users, and are intended as tools for data file authors to use.
A new "Creation Costs Mechanics" tab has been added to the Tools group. This stores various settings that are used to calculate the costs of various character creation elements in Shadowrun 5. By replacing an existing cost storage or creating a new one, you could house rule how much things cost in your campaign.
A new "Advancement Costs Mechanics" tab has been added to the Tools group. This stores various settings that are used to calculate the costs of various character advancement elements in Shadowrun 5. By replacing an existing cost storage or creating a new one, you could house rule how much things cost in your campaign.
A new "Mechanics" tab has been added to the Tools group. All Mechanics are automatically added to all characters. Therefore, any scripts on a mechanic will always be run, and anything bootstrapped to a mechanic will be added to all characters. This is intended as a tool for implementing house rules - the changes and new material that need to be applied for the house rule can be added to the mechanic, and the mechanic can be given the Source for that house rule, so that it is only live while that option is turned on.
A new "Priority" tab has been added to the Tools group. These form the grid of priority choices that stores the actual data Hero Lab looks up when you set one of your priorities to a specific level. For example, if you were to set your Resources to A, there is a Priority selection that stores that Resources A has a resources value of 450,000. So, by replacing these, you can house rule the value of the various priority selections in your campaign.
The Armor Ratings that are listed on the Armory tab (the ArmRating compset) can now use situational modifiers.

So, the status of everything else;

For Run Faster, the Life Modules system and the Shapeshifter races are in progress. Once those are done, we'll have Run Faster complete.

We've also got the sourcebooks Bloody Business and Hard Targets in progress, and that will bring us up-to-date with the sourcebooks and e-books that Catalyst has published.

Catalyst has announced that they'll be publishing Rigger 5 soon. We haven't gotten a copy of that yet, but once we do, we'll evaluate how much work is going to be required to add that to Hero Lab, and figure out where to fit it into our schedule.

I don't have solid dates for any of that yet, I'm sorry to say, but we'll get it all to you as soon as we can. Then, once that's all done, we'll have a chance to dive into the various improvement projects listed in the Future Plans section of the FAQ (which is available in the Help menu within Hero Lab).
