To my knowledge there are no transforming mecha in Rifts. But it has been years since I even opened or purchased a Rifts book... (I think Rifts Canada was the last. And I was so disgusted with that book that I actually swore off Rifts for a time!)

My point being that Rifts is designed (so to speak) to incorporate any other game idea/ruleset into something that makes it all work together, however imperfectly. So you can have a transformer pilot working with a military sniper and a medieval fighter, supported by a magic tosser and a magic healer.

Yea, there was 2 or 3 mechs in there that changed between various modes. Good memory! I totally forgot about the Atlantis book.

Exactly . He had a split personality . One was  a deflected Rebel who fled his Atlantis Slave Masters , and a second ( dominant but hidden) personality as a spy for the Spluggorth Slave Masters . Complete wit Bio mod Parasites that transformed him in an MDC Creature .
Rifts is so stock full of Char Ideas and  so rich in Fluff but at the same time is so bad Ruleswise.
We used to play Rifts with GURPS ( 3rd ed) Rules
And recently I read about an oficial Savage Worlds Conversion....( If You're interested)
