Hi all,

I'm trying to read up (in a bit every sourcebooks I can have) anything there is on Celedyr and especially his "special unit" the Knight of Rage. They are mentioned in Market Panic and described as a bunch off over augmented cyber adepts....

Are they described a bit more in details somewhere else ?

There's a little stuff in the 'artifacts' missions, specifically about one of Celedyr's couriers named Medjay. Also there's stats for a few different KoR members in Lockdown, 219-220. Fluff-wise, Corporate Guide page 132, and I think also some stuff in Market Panic. More Celedyr info in Clutch of Dragons.

There is also the extraordinary mystery of the bodyguards and settlers in and around the [Caerleon] site, who are known to have the specific favour of the dragon. A group of Knights or Rage an their entourage, some 120 strong, guard the installations. The presence of watcher spirits and other magical surveillance testifies the presence of shamans among these colourful people. The Knights wear full African regalia, declaim their apocalyptic messages, and say nothing of their purpose here.

>>>>>[Such an alliance show something very deep at work. It goes way back to Celtic roots far in the past, when Celts and North Africans came into extensive contact. Ireland is the best place for finding Egyptian ruins, but the Welsh coast has produced plenty, too. And Celedyr's known to be a great traveller through the insides of earth and rock. Word is that he has unearthed and brought up sacred stones from the ancestors of the Knights, and that they bear messages and inscriptions that are to the Knights what scriptures are to others. Besides that, the dragon has some need for the Knights, and as for the company, well, I didn't I could explain everything.]<<<<<

THE KNIGHTS OF RAGE
These terms deserve special mention. originally the Knights of Rage were a mixed-race African street gags in Southwark, located on the southern banks of the Thames in London before it got crammed in the Squeeze. Then in 2043 Celedyr appeared amongst their leadership (disguised in human form bearing some tablets he had unearthed from Nubia. Apparently these tablets were sacred to the Nubians, and the gang leaders pledged their loyalty to the dragon. Celedyr picked what he thought were the best members and took them back to Caerleon to serve as his praetorian guard
Since then both branches of the Knights of Rage have expanded and grown under their service to Celedyr. Both groups still proclaim their original Nubian heritage, and they display it in an unusual mixture of African, Egyptian and Celtic traditions. The original African street gang still remains in London, though it's expanded its membership to include some whites (mostly of Austrian, Bretagne or Celtic descent); apparently the London gang is a "recruitment center" that picks the best for service to send to Caerleon. The Knights also have some smaller chapters in Bristol, Newport and Cardiff, though these are predominantly composed of Welsh Celts.

> There's an interesting theory that ties the Celts of Wales and Cornwall to the ancient Nubians of Sudan. Apaprently the Nubians had a culture of their own predating the ancient Egyptians. The Nubians were dominant during the Bronze Age and warred with the early Egyptians, until the pharaohs got the upper hand, defeated the Nubians and assimilated their culture into its own (a lof of Egyptian culture is based upon the Nubiann civilization).
In any cases, some surviving Nubians escaped from their Egyptian masters and set off in search for a new homeland, passing through Austria, German and Brittany, before heading up the coast and settling in Wales and Cornwall, where they became Celts. There does appear to be some credence to this, as ancient Celtic artifacts recently unearthed have born striking similarities to Egyptian and Nubian artifacts. Also, the engineering and astronomical knowledge used to construct stone circles like Stonehenge or the Brynngwydn Gorsedd is very close to ancient Egyptian engineering. Other than that it's a bit of a stretch.
> People Watcher

The chapter in Caerleon, however, is the one that bears watching. These guys are the dragon's eyes, ears and claws around the world. Don't confuse them with the gangs you'll find in the Squeeze or in Cardiff; the Caerleon Knights are head and shoulders above them. Occasionally they'll cull bodies from their "farm leagues" for extra backup, but the Caerleon Knights are the cream of the crop.

> The Knights of Rage are masters of encoding, encryption and decryption. The Caerleon contingency boasts a significant number of deckers and drone riggers in their ranks. Also, Celedyr teaches them many obscure languages, making them even more difficult to infiltrate. I understand it's standard practice among them to carry secure messages in some obscure dead language or dialect.

THE KNIGHTS OF RAGE
Celedyr’s personal cadre of agents, the Knights of Rage, has been especially active in the shadows recently. The group’s head chapter is based at NeoNET’s Caerleon facility, which also serves as the megacorp’s R&D center and Celedyr’s lair. Originally, the group was a mixed-race African street gang operating in the outskirts of London. The group’s interests—which include such varied subjects as ancient mystics, the latest technomancer plot to take over the world, and AI sightings—closely match the dragon’s interests.
Celedyr met the group in 2043 and won its loyalty by sharing ancient sacred Nubian tablets with its members. Under the dragon’s tutelage, the Knights have prospered and formed new chapters throughout various British sprawls, Egypt, and even Australia. The Caerleon chapter serves as Celedyr’s eyes and ears—on the streets and in the shadows. Celedyr’s most trusted agent, a woman named Sulawyo, was spotted in Hong Kong on the eve of the technomancer breakout, as well as in Geneva and Lausanne a few days before the UN grid was attacked. Sulawyo’s operations against the Undernet Alliance are the main reasons for the fierce rivalry between NeoNET and Horizon.

> Lately, the Knights have been going after Horizon’s Singularity branch. Behind the scenes, though, lawyers Schmidt, Iakob, and Lei have been hired to mediate some sort of agreement. Interestingly enough, they’re not representing NeoNET, but Emerging Futures — the corporation originally owned by Eliohann.
> Plan 9

The Clutch of Dragons mentions the Knights of Rage exactly once about how Celedyr use them as one of the "outside channels" to do things behind Richard Villiers' back, in the "War at 10,000 meters". The "Celedyr" chapter in CoD was solely dedicated to Albuquerque area.

There's more on them in the recent video game tie-in book for Boston, too, Lockdown (including some stats for various types of members, IIRC).
