Title: [SR5] Matrix - Would destroy a Tar Baby remove the Link Lock ?
Post by: belaran on <09-07-17/0551:10>
Hi,

In a game yesterday, I have happily link locked my decker's PC ! Yeah ! But then he opted to attack the ICe (he had to gain some time) which led to the following : would the destruction of a Tar Baby ICe remove the link lock on his persona, or the link locked would be considered as "belonging" to the host. In a more broader sense, is there a way to remove a link-lock short of reboot or jacking out ?

Shutting down the entity that link-locked you should free you from the lock.
IC and host share MARKs but link-lock is a function of matrix damage i.e. independent of MARKs.

Hum interesting take on that. It also make sense in terms of description - if the ICe somehow "grab" your persona, remove its icon (by destroying the ICe) should get you ride off of it.

I guess I owe an apology to my PC ;) !
