Alternately, for hawky goodness, there's the Entertainment Systems Falcon (Aerial Pet Drone) from p118-119 of Arsenal.

Only 59,000¥ at availability 16 and you won't have to learn Animal Husbandry!

In reference to fluffy (Koan, most likely, if it is Dad's old Malamute) playing fetch with bombs... There were the Russian Anti-Tank dogs that the Russians made the mistake of training using their own tanks. They set the bomb-laden dogs loose on the battlefield... and then the dogs ran under their own tanks and blew up.

... oops.

Oh, by the way, while were on topic: Running Wild gives some prices for some pet species, but Ive wondered about a Quicksilver Mongoose. Hell, even the description in the ancient Paranormal Animals of Europe back then makes them sound like good pets (and pest control). So, does anybody have any ideas what such an animal would cost?

Okay, it would depend. I don't know anything about quicksilver mongooses, but I can tell you about awakened animals. They are generally between 4 and 20 times the price of the unawakened version.

A ferret shares almost all it's stats with a mongoose, so we'll start with that.
Ferret
Cost: 250 nuyen
Rating: -
Lifestyle: Middle or higher. 25 Nuyen a month upkeep.

Now lets look at the difference between a comparable common awakened animal and it's unawakened counterpart

Cat
Cost: 50
Rating: -
Lifestyle: Squatter/25

Blackberry Cat
Cost: 1,000
Rating: 6F
Lifestyle: Squatter/25

Aside from the considerable cost difference, you might also note that all awakened animals are either restricted or forbidden to have as pets. Whether they are forbidden or not seems to be dependent on whether they are endangered, whether they cause problems in urban areas, and various things like that.

Well, PAoE says they are kept as pets en masse in the slums of Madrid and Sevilla. So I guess QMs dont need to be all that expensive - but then I guess slums dont exactly have many (enforced) restrictions, and non-slum dwellers might not like their QMs to sustain themselves on devil rats alone, heh. Still, there is quite some difference between a blackberry cat and a quicksilver mongoose - I mean, those kitties are nearly sapient. (Cant remember if they in fact have the sapience power). And the QMs seem rather undangerous and even beneficial.

That being said, say 4-8 times the Ferret price for a non-slum bred and non-semiferal ;) QM seems reasonable.

Well unless you intend to only stay in the area they are native to, you will probably need to decide on a standard Availablity for them. I suggest 9R or somewhere around there.
