Jason posted this to the Shadowrun Facebook Page over the weekend, so figured I'd pass it along if you're not watching either it (or the SR Missions page, which I reposted it to).

Covers are getting better.  Product is getting better.  Slowly but surely.  ;D

It's good to see the quality is improving, and that the standards are high.

I agree. The cover art has been getting better & better. Can't wait to see what the next few books have to offer.

Cover's not the only part of the book, of course.  But apparently Bull's written some parts of this, so the writing should be good as well.

*Sighs*  There goes the budget again.

Heh.  It just means several parts of the book will be goofy and poorly written, since I'm involved ;)

But hopefully fun.  And, I got to add a little bit to expand the shadowrun world, so...  There's that.

Meh.  Paid is nice, but honestly, that's not why I do any of this.  I read a quote from someone in the comic book industry recently (I can;t remember who, nor can I find it again, so I'm paraphrasing here) that went something like "If you wouldn't work on a project for free, then you don't have the dedication to do it professionally", or some such.  There's a bit of hubris in there, but it rings true, especially for an industry like the RPG industry.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm not about to turn down the paycheck, and I do poke CGL to make sure I (and more importantly, my Missions writers) get paid on a halfway decent schedule.  But that's just a little bonus.  The reason I do any of what I do is to (hopefully) make Shadowrun more fun, and more interesting.  Again, paraphrasing, this time Robert Baden-Powell, "To leave [Shadowrun] a little better than I found it."

Hrmm.  I just realized how pretentious that last post came off, which is totally not my intention.  It's late and I'm tired.

Lets just paraphrase to "I'm a lucky, lucky fragger to get to work on Shadowrun, and I'm well aware of that fact."

At least you stopped short of saying that you were bigger than Jesus.  :P

*Ahem*

Well ... We're both bigger than Jesus. In fact the only freelancer I met who isn't is Brandie Tarvin. Maybe Jason. He's wiry, but tall.

I dunno. He was a carpenter; He was certainly no weakling. But yeah, many of us are probably taller than He was, all things considered....

Neither me nor James is talking height, though considering the time, we probably are still taller.  Fairly certain we're both much, much...  ummm...  Thicker.  :)
