10 Terrorists
« on: (13:36:11/04-24-15) »
A new digital release, 10 Terrorists:

BattleCorp

DrivethruRPG

Causes of Blood

There is no way to sugarcoat it—people in the Sixth World spend an awful lot of time coming up with reasons to kill each other. When it comes to moral codes, people don’t think they’re better than others because they don’t kill and others do—they compare the reasons for killing, ranking them, trying to justify the oft-unjustifiable. You can talk to a hundred people and get a hundred different opinions about what’s justified and what’s not, and about which motivations are worse than others, but consistently at the bottom of the list are those who would kill innocents for a cause, who would instill terror in people for political gain, because they see no other recourse.

10 Terrorists covers ten groups in the Shadowrun setting who add chaos and violence to an already chaotic and violent world to further their own twisted causes. From Seed, a Matrix terrorism group that split off Ex Pacis, to Logos, a group that combines environmental extremism with talislegging, these are groups that can add and danger and plot hooks to Shadowrun campaigns. Whether runners are infiltrating the groups, avoiding them, or dealing with the fallout from the chaos they cause, 10 Terrorists can increase the threat level of any Shadowrun game.

10 Terrorists is for use with Shadowrun, Fifth Edition.

Hey AJ,

is the 9x9, aka Gau Fong, from Hongkong one of those groups? I'd love to have some more intel about them.

Ooooo...  A splinter cell off the False Face Society.

That will tie in nicely with all the recent Sioux material. :D

@Ech0,  no 9x9 action sorry, but some pretty quirky groups here to add flavour and nightmares for the runners.

Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

Just bought this, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the ebook of Crimson was available as well, at last!

Glad you guys like it! I certainly tried to spread it between old favourites and brand new groups. I'd love to hear what people favourite groups are! :)

Personal Favourite: Omega Dawn. There's just something inherently troubling about a bunch of security goons from different corps ganging up on undesirables. I can vividly see these guys being a real threat for a team of runners who indiscriminately kill security guards, and I find this group to be the least bat-shit crazy one. Vigilantes, sure, but not necessarily insane. I also like the comment about the lack of racism in Omega Dawn.

I also thought it was cool to get more info on the Hand of Five. There was a thread on this very forum not too long ago asking for clarification on this, so I'm sure I'm not the only one who'll appreciate this.

All in all, well worth the price of admission.

Yeah, Omega Dawn is probably the nastiest one out of the lot, at least from a runner's point of view. And just one more reason to try and keep body counts low when you're on a run.

Aye, Omega Dawn drew my eye.

Reminded me a lot of the warrior lodges that formed  Warhammer during the Horus Heresy where oaths/loyalty to the lodges superseded the normal chains of command, crossing even into different legions, so not too unlike how OD is crossing corp lines to get their work done.

Is there any crunch to this, especially for Missions? Or just a fluff book?

There are stat listings for members of the 10 terrorist organizations, but other than that it's all source material. No new rules or gear, if that's what you're wondering.

Nods About what I was thinking. Sounds like a good book for homebrew, but as I'll be doing pre-gen stuff might give this one a miss.

First thought when I read the Omega Dawn entry was

"Oh...so the Psycho Squad from CP2020 is officially in SR?"
"I prefer the Turnabout discussions more then the Roundabout variety"

*Shrug* Never played CP, don't know what that is, so any resemblance would be coincidental.

I just gave this a read last night.  I especially love Seed, the Thuggees, and Omega Dawn.  Omega Dawn sounds like they're trying to force the hand of the Corporate Court, the Thuggees are just scary as hell (and remind me of Indiana Jones), and Seed is right up my alley for NPCs I'd include in my game.  Good work!
