Bio Adept Oni Samurai remake (No Firearms)

I remade my bio adept oni. I'm a bit overspecialized. I wanted to get rid of guns for this adept, and focus on secondary Breaking and Entering. Once I make money I'm buying Platelet Factories.

I think your losing efficiency and value by taking the magic hit, i'd recommend dropping the cyberware,  if your going blade adept, pickup Stag Mentor Spirit, get a weapon focus (I'd recommend hitting a pool of  at least 21), and Elemental Weapon. Drop one trick pony finished out your primary Martial art. Double poor self control lacks imagination Consider maybe Tough and Targeted, or swapping out superhuman psychosis for a code honor.
This character is extraordinarily unsubtle, and i would consider it unplayable in the long term it's far to unstable as written. But Focus it down and  take out some of the instability and I could see it going places.
A minimum of etiquette, would also help round it out.

IMO you're overdoing the "Bio" part in "Bio adept". Is +3 strength really worth losing 1 Magic and 4 attribute points?

Totally think its worth it actually. Thats 3 extra dv for throwing and katana attacks, extends range of throwing by 15 and +3 extra dice on most of the athletics group followed by another +3 on the athletics group for synthacardium.

However I realized if I set synthacardium to "used" I can buy a level 3 weapon foci for my katana if I give up pinning people with one trick pony.

Which brings me to my main concern. I'm going to give up beserker for the new stag, its just too good to pass up, with the new katana I'll potentially have 5 dice and kill spirits. Now I have less composure dice, this was missions legal, what do I give up for my 10 karma combat monster quality?

Why would you want an Oni when going melee? You are losing attribute points both in Strength and Body.
Also, being able to go first and to dodge are important and you are dumping both Reaction and Intuition! Edge and Synthacardium are not worth that sacrifice. Get them later.

4 body isn't a good attribute. You want an odd number, and if you put in a point of charisma anyways, the question becomes 1 agility versus 1 strength

Agility is the better attribute overall

but mainly, I like oni, I did it for flavor


What I like about the build, is getting 13 dice on so many things with decent edge allows me to sneak almost as well as I can melee, and I can be quiet too.

Drop the bio, get the magic back

Consider  Agi 7 + blades 6(+2)+2 Stag + 3 weapon focus + 1 improved ability =21 pretty easy, add elemental weapon and you get the same damage, which will scale more easily given that it runs with magic.
 In most combat situations throwing 21 die is over kill, finish out kendo and you split the pool int two pools of 11, should be plenty for lower profession raiding targets. There are lots of good adept powers.

It will also give you very effective parry pool.

Pick some qualities if your mission legal, i don't recall if Code of Honor is missions legal, its one of my favorite qualities, most GMs like it. There's lots of codes, find one that fits your character image.

Superhuman Psychosis prevents me from taking codes of honor, I lose a single melee dice and the suppressive fire bonus, also they are banned in things like missions settings.
If I were to add the specialization, it would bring me to 24 dice already
Agi10 + blades 6 (+2specialization) +2 Stag +3 weapon focus + 1 Superhuman Psychosis


Martial arts are already easy enough to get during play. Elemental weapon is also fairly easy to obtain during play, will be the first thing I obtain after getting a way

I can consider losing the muscle augmentation like suggested, but becoming a pure adept is overkill.

Look, if you like Oni for whatever reason- go for it.
It's a mechanically weaker choice for a physad melee master
Troll at A gives you a higher STR cap so you don't need muscle toner.
But I'll use Oni since that's what you want

If I were to take your advise, I'd do 3 used toner and get prototype transhuman over restricted gear. I mean 1 point of agility for 10 extra karma and a loss of magic is pretty severe.

Also gives me reason to take one point of elemental strike or go to level 3 reflexes, because I'd exceed my combat sense rating (well, at an odd number, for background count reasons)

Unfortunately it also makes karma really tight, I'm 2 karma short from taking prototype transhuman or restricted gear, even if I take out all the 2 karma agility skills and hawk eye and just do blades

I'd also have to buy 10 karma in play to get 2 edge before any skills
