Robocop is classic cyberpunk (and the reason Shadowrun has assault cannons). The main character isn't really a runner, but the interaction between the villains feels very much like Mr Johnson and a shady runner team.

Hmmm... There was this one movie... When i saw it i had to think immediately of Shadowrun!
Problem is i don't remember the name...
But maybe you guys have seen it?
Story was something like this:
There was some sort of corporation that had some sort of accident... Some murderous robot that would eat your face.
Anyway, there was a team of specialists that entered that corp. building.
(Dunno if damage control or if they where stealing shit or sumtin).
It had like... The classic Shadowrun 2nd E tribal warrior, it had a somewhat emotionally cold tech guy,
there was (prolly even a couple) military style weapon experts...
And at one point of the story, to fight that robot murder machine, they had to strap this one military guy into some sort of exo-skeleton
prototype thing that would override his brain with it's onboard A.I. which is why they hesitated first.

Anyway, THAT was a shadowrun movie to me... Might as well have been an official thing imho!

I like to point my players towards Psycho Pass as an example of the levels of corporate control (government control in the show, but whatever) common people are willing to put up with in the same of safety and security.

I think some of the best Shadowrun/Cyberpunk movies are by Guy Ritchie.  Especially if you want to see street level runs.

Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels
Snatch
RocknRolla
Revolver

There is also for street level other movies as well.
Layer Cake
Faster

As for anime.  I get my inspiration from:
Cowboy Bebop
Ghost in the Shell
Black Lagoon
Old Bubblegum Crash and Crisis (Not that 2040 junk where the Voomers look like muppets.)
AD Police
Durarara!!  (If you are interested in seeing how a free spirit might interact with the world around it.  Celty is the perfect example.)
Baccano! (This anime is awesome a bunch of immortal alchemists running around in different time periods.)

Don't think any one has brought up "Gunslinger Girl" yet. manga/anime series about a secret government agency that turns young orphan girls into brainwashed cyborg assassins using extremely experimental  technology  .

Repo:The Genetic Opera anyone? What? No, just me? :P

And yeah, Dark Angel with Alba is a favorite of mine...it feels very Shadowrun, with a Decker and a BioAdept taking out the bad guys. It's very bioware heavy though, but definitely some cyber-at times. (Like in the episode Red, or that street gang that takes in Zach in an episode.)

I really like Bunraku too. Mostly because of the name, but it has a flair that vibes with Shadowrun with me, if the story itself does not.

Old City Blues is also a great (and free!) read for Shadowrun ideas.

Dredd will come to TV as Judge Dredd : Mega-City One. And it instantly becomes #1 of my "most-awaited TV show" list.
Even more if they keep the aesthetics and treatment of the 2012 movie with Karl Urban.

Not exactly the "best Shadowrun", but it's worth noting that the plot of Die Hard is basically a C.L.U.E. casefile (meaning "a shadowrun that went horribly wrong for the runners because they did something incredibly stupid") that included a very lucky NPC. If I remember the movie correctly, the fatally foolish error made by Hans Gruber and company was assuming that they'd killed McClane instead of confirming their kill.

I also like to think of it as an example of why it's pointless to go full Black Trenchcoat and why you should always be ready to go Pink Mohawk; for all Gruber's detailed plotting, his plan was ruined by one thing that he didn't see coming. Sure, you might say "So what? If he'd just done a truly ludicrous amount of legwork he could've seen it coming and prepared accordingly!" You'd be right, but you'd also be missing the point entirely. He thought he'd done enough legwork, but "enough legwork" and "enough planning" are delusions brought on by the arrogance of players.  No matter how much you plan, the GM can always throw an unexpected curveball at you, and when that happens all that will matter is how well you can improvise and react. And you know what else? If your GM has a brain, a spine, and good taste, they're never going to let you just waltz through the main event of a run no matter what you do for legwork.....unless they're setting you up for something horrible, but that's a different kettle of fish. What I'm getting at here is that beyond a certain point, planning and legwork are futile; shit will hit the fan and full-auto APDS from an assault rifle will be the best solution, so abandon any delusions you have that it won't turn out that way.
After all you don't send an electrician to fix your leaking toilet.
