Title: Petnomancer Critique
Post by: Desiani on <08-29-17/0329:00>
I'm just looking to see what Y'all think! :D I am half tempted to drop CHR a point or two because I don't plan on being an attacker. I have 7 karma left for positive qualities, anything y'all would recommend on taking? I can't quite decide. I know my weapon choice isn't optimal.. keeping nuyen on a tight leash with my only big things as my taxi and my SIN. Perception altering being an exception.

Otaku needed a datajack to actually do Otaku things, and you don't have one. Of course, if you get one, you lose a point of essence and thus a point of resonance. Without that, actually being an Otaku who became a Technomancer is iffy at best. And don't forget the necessary age restrictions. (Admittedly this is a fluff complaint rather than anything mechanical.)

No commlink, trodes, or anything makes you scream technomancer, which is kind of a bad thing.

You have 21 points on attributes.

How was this character written up? I'm assuming B attributes, B metatype, A technomancer, and E nuyen and E skills? (I hate how the skills are done, where we can't see how many points you have in a given skill, we just have to back track your dice pool.)

Can you let us know your priority selection, and what you bought with karma?

Sorry. This was Karmagen. I forgot to use the updated print screen. I have a mct defender and  trodes :D

I don't see them.

Also, how much karma did you get? Normally karma builds come out kind of short on attributes (or they do when I have tried to build them).

Looks fine enough.

Check with GM re: Otaku to Technomancer and whether you need a datajack to take it. It's a poorly described quality.

Corporate SINs can also be difficult in a lot of games, so check with your GM about that.

I would probably try to spec your Compiling/Registering and hacking.

Your cash seems very short...

Yea. I decided to buff my stats over $$$ All I need is the Comm, transportation, sin and a gun... or taser in my case.  The Lim Sin is for a background thing. She works inside Technicolor Streams a hacker group in Data Trails toward the end of the Luser chapter.

Especially for techno I feel not having much nuyen wise is a trade off you have to make for a beefier LP.

Edit: Would Prime Data Haven Membership be handy for a petnomancer? I'm just trying to figure out how to use my last 7 points for P. Qualities

What does LP mean?

Sneak skill, please get some.  Chameleon Suit plus Machine Sprites and you can get a decent Sneak pool.

You really want to get some specializations in key skills, Registering, Compiling, Computer, and Hacking.  You pretty much are going to be checking those 4 skills all night long.

Pharma grade Psyche and Cram are your friends for so many reasons.

You have, basically nothing to do in combat, FYI.  So other than compiling and ordering around Sprites and the occasional Complex Forum you don't have much to do.  Your action economy is not good.

Positive qualities, Codeslinger (Hack on the fly), Ninja Vanish, ICU, Data Anomaly are all good picks.

Technically chameleon suit and diagnostics would help you "hide" dice, not general skulking about. :)
