Hello runners from across the ocean,

i spent the last days reading the geasa rules in the german MITS. Now i´ve got some questions about "Adepts and Geasa"
When suffering magic loss (1 Point)...
A - Can an adept-player decide to accept the magic loss (losing 1 point of magic) and take no geas?
When taking a Geas...
B - Can an adept-player chose the geas himself? (or does the gamemaster?)
C - Can an adept-player chose the affected Powers himself? (or does the gamemaster?)

In german MITS it looks like all awakened characters, except adepts, have free choices.
Adepts can´t accept the magic loss und MUST get a geas. The gamemaster choses the specific geas and choses the affected Adept Powers.
Is that true? perhaps wrong translation?
Is original MITS saying the same?

Hope someone can help me.  :)

(And sry for bad english.)

A) Yes, the adept-player can choose to accept the magic loss (losing 1 point of magic) and take no geas.

B) No, the player does not get to choose, the GM does.

C) No, the player does not get to chose the affected powers, the GM does.

Bit o threadcromancy here.

But why would the GM pick your gease for you?

That seems like something the Player would pick for sure & as long as its covered in the rules options the GM approves it.

Gryphynx/Sphynx is incorrect in general, but may be correct specifically (i.e. for his table).   In general, the player would select the geas, with the GM having approval.

IMO, the geas should not be 'I practice for an hour', and account for all geased points; if you go that way, then the time should apply per point, i.e. you must practice for four hours to accomplish the geas for four points' worth.  Again, IMO.
