Turning around at the new voice, Javier sees an elf standing there staring at him. He grins as the elf finally looks up enough to meet his eyes.

He looks back and forth as Ender and Ray talk amongst themselves, and when they're done talking and both looking at him he stares back at the elf.

"Hey there, I'm Javier. Boss sent me cause you 'parently need some musle. I got plenty o musle." He laughs heartily, then sticks his hand out to the little man in greeting.

Looking back at the Boss, he thinks about it for a second, face all scrunched up.

"I like my place. It's got my bed, and my trids, and everybody knows who I am, and... and... the girl across the street is nice to look at".

"I dunno, Boss. I kinda got my own place, with a nice bed, and I got my trids there an all. I don't wanna be a bother; no need to rebuild jus for me. I can hang out here during the days, though. Is OK?"

He looks back at the elf again, and realizes he forgot to let go of his hand. Immediately releasing his grip on the poor mans fist, he looks down at him, concern obvious on his face.

"You OK, Boss? I'm sorry, didn't mean to catch your hand like that! I'm just big, is all, sometimes I forget. I'm sorry, are you OK?"

Javier gently nudges Ender on the shoulder, gives him an apologetic and encouraging smile, and then stands up straight with a beaming grin on his face.

"As for tests. You jus point the way, vato!" A look of consternation crosses his face, and he kinda... shuffles... for a bit, which looks weirdly out of place given his size.

"Uuum... but just so you knows, sometimes I get a little lost in myself. Specially if the bullets are flying. Jus don't get in my way, OK?"

As he finishes, his 'link starts going haywire. He shakes the damn thing like he normally does, and when that doesn't work he shuts it off. He looks at Ender and Ray.

"Silly 'tronics. Now, you said sumptin about a cave? And I don't need no backup to prove myself, 'specially not from a drone. The dog can tag along, though."

Shutting off the commlink stops the craziness.

"what the hell, dammit how the drek did they get my address. well isn't this just lovely. Ryuu starts working on his commlink looking pissed. you here him mutter under his breath and you can only catch some of the words Fragging porn sites, fragging pop ups and fragging... Frag... mess with my ware.. get back

The team walks down to the basement preparing to enter the tunnels below the house.  The reinforced metal door lays before them and two security guards stand ready to open the doors when ordered...

Javier looks at the door with concern evident on his face.

"Umm, I'm not sure I'll fit through that door, jefe. Chu got a bigger entrance somewhere? I can try to squeeze through, but I might damage the frame, and if I do is not my fault, OK?"

Pleased at his own reasoning, he nods to himself then takes a closer look at the guards before turning back to his new friends

"So Boss, what's the test? How many ghouls I gotta kill before I can be a slayer, eh?"

While speaking he grabs the shotgun hanging from his back, removes the ammo drum and checks the action, blows into the drum for good luck and makes sure that it's loaded with regular ammo as opposed to the gel rounds he's also carrying in the drums clearly marked with green tape, then slaps the drum back into place.

He then reaches into one of his pockets and fishes out the little pill bottle, then cracks the lid and pops one of the tiny smiley faced pills of cram into his mouth.

The effects aren't instantaneous but he soon feels more on edge, almost as if the world has slowed down around him, and for a second all he can think of is the roar of the crowds...

Before you part ryuu tells you to turn your commlink  back on for communication. He let's you know the spam problems will be gone.down at the door you hear via the comm. okay just kill a few get back here alive and bring proof the limit is up to you kill one or ten whatever you think you can handle. Just know that it will be a competition if all goes well. One of my drones shall accompany you as a safety measure and I believe ender will be with you as well. with that he sends his drone lynx down to the vault area.

Snapping out of his reverie, Javier responds back over his almost comically large 'link:
"Uhhh, OK, Boss, you gots it."

He shuffles a little as the somewhat familiar feeling of twitching muscles starts, a sure sign that the drugs are kicking in.

"Heh heh heh. I like competitions. Boss wants proof, I'll give him proof, and lots of it."

Javier runs his hands along the ammo drums at his waist, counting them out mentally.

"One, two, three, four, uuuh .... five... and hmmm. six? That's..."

He stops for a second, using his fingers to do the math.

"Like a hundred an'a half of the regulars, and den some. And one... two... of the knock-outs. Tha's got to be... half a hundred, for sure. And that's not even countin' de axe."

Slinging the weapon back over his shoulder, he then slips the large axe out of the loop at his belt. He grins at the guards, then opens his mouth and lets his jaws drop shut with a loud snap.

"Dis oughta be fun, vatos!"

Javier wakes up as he hears the breaks squeak to a stop....

The sound of a garage door closing is all he notices. He is bound, gagged and restrained.

The trailer door opens and he hears an exchange...

Large deep voice _> I have the imbelicle for you if you have the nuyen

Smaller deep voice _> All the money is here on the credstick...check it if you must

Large deep voice  and fumbling around_> ahhh...looks all good here.

Large deep voice _> It looks like you are all paid up.  I will let you know if I hear anything.  PLEASUREEEE doing business with you

Large deep voice _> BTW, tell your gang to stay off my turf.  Next time, we won't be making any transactions with you...

Smaller deep voice _> I assure you that there will not be a next time.  I will advise my men and should they disobey....there will be no safe ground for any of them

Large deep voice _> HAHAHAAA. Take your simpleton.  I'm happy to get rid of him[color]

Javier is pulled out of the trailer and placed on the ground.  He hears the garage door lift and a large truck roll out.  The garage closes....

Javier's gag, restraints and blindfold is removed.  He sees boss and his crew standing above him.

Straining quietly against his bonds, Javier scrunches up his face in concentration as he listens intently.

"Big meanie is selling me? Uh oh..."

He lies still as he hears people approach, then feels his bonds being removed. As he's guided out of the trailer and the blindfold is removed, he looks up and sees Boss. Stands up shakily he grins wide and exclaims loudly.

"BOSS! You ain't gonna believe what happened! There was this giant troll, bigger'n me even! An' ghouls! Lotsa ghouls. We killed a whole bunch of 'em, for my initiation y'know; I had at least... hmmm... seven of their heads on my belt last I checked. Oh, an' the caves under the hangout is HUGE!"

He suddenly hangs his head as if ashamed, and shuffles his feet before proceeding.

"But then, this truck came out of nowhere. I guess I wasn't thinkin; I saw more ghouls, and I just rushed in. They were all over us, vato; whoever dey were. Then I got knocked out and good...."

Javier looks around nervously, like the child who's been caught redhanded stealing cookies from the jar, while trying to gauge the reactions of Boss and his crew.

"Hey, what happened to the others? We gotta go get'em, Boss! Dey wouldn't leave me alone, I knows it. 'Cept maybe Xan; dat sneaky pitfighter disappeared on us. I know who he is, though, an he's better gonna have some answers."

He looks directly at Boss, suddenly realizing he's been speed-talking for the past couple of minutes.

"Sorry Boss, got excited. What'chu want me to do? Oh, and who was the big'un and dose ghouls? They didn't eat me, so they can't be all bad, right?"

Boss, obviously very irritated, replies: "You will see your "friends" soon enough...follow me and keep your mouth shut..  He walks out to a van and hops in the back and waits for you to follow.

Javier shuffles in behind Boss, squeezing into the van.

"Uuh, Boss, dey took my gun and my axe. Any chance we can buy dem back, too? If not, I'll need some new ones."

Boss just audibly sighs... The van doors close and the van starts moving.
