Hey guys,
I'm super visual when it comes to.. pretty much everything and it was driving me nuts that I couldn't find a decent picture of the Ares Alpha. So I found the "Pimp My Gun" website on google and created my best approximation of one. Here it is if anyone likes it.
Stock Ares Alpha

There is a picture of an Ares Alpha in the SR4 core rulebook (german edition, at least), though of course it's a relatively base version, nothing as flashy. I don't think it's a bullpub, however.
Then again, visual accuracy isn't really a point SR makes, so I wouldn't worry bout that. ^^

Yeah I'm not sure either, however I was going off three pics. It could be an Ares competitor. ;)

The Alpha has always been bullpub.
NIce work, definitely, although that mag hardly fits 42 bullets ;D

However, I could actually see it being a clever name for a runner pub with a plain pub in front and all the action in the back. Hehe. The Bullpup Den or TBD. ;)

Caseless ammo remember?
Also, we don't know the actual size of the rounds fired.
The HK G11 fit 50 rounds of caseless 4.7mm ammo into a magazine roughly the size of an AK mag, so who knows...
