This is just a general topic about the minis that you all use for your table top game, if any.

I wanted to know if you all use the Iron Wind Metals miniatures or if you prefer something else, and why.

Currently I find the range of minis a bit dated, after all they are the original sculpts from the 80s.

What you got?

I am loyal to IWM but I was not impressed with their Minotaurs so I went to Reaper for Usda. That's going to be Usda just over there on the left.

More often than not, star wars figured (from the d20 pre-painted line)

I'm still wishing and dreaming of the day when we'll see some solid shadowrun miniatures... I promise, I'd buy some so please make them!

Actually, i have all the sets of Shadowrun minis and Cyberpunk 2020 minis ever made. A few rifts figs. A couple of some deadlands type figs. And even the tro of 40k Orc "sonic marines" (or whatever they are called), the ones that look like Slash and Axel from GnR, as Orc rockers.
Very few of them are painted, because I suck at that.
Bad thing is I don't ever get to use them cause my group now dosen't use figs...  :(

In a pinch, Necromunda figs work just fine.  Me and all my friends are wargamers enough to the point that one of us will have something that looks cool for what we're wanting a figurine for -- between lots of cheaply-purchased commons from various collectible miniature ranges (D&D, Star Wars, Heroclix, are great to buy for silly low prices), and our assortment of actual wargames...we're like iPad.

"There's an app (err, mini) for that."

My groups doesn't use minis.  In the past I tend to use what ever minis I have lying around (usually either Mutant Chronicles figures, or Star Wars figures).  I would love to see some plastic, pre-painted SR figures though (I don't have the time to assemble and paint IWM figures so they are out of the questions).
Some people call me crazy...  Maybe they are right.

I don't use minis.  I usually just sketch things out on paper or use my non-six-siders to mark out where everyone is.

I'm using a pathfinder mini that I'm thinking of modding a bit actually (removing the magic bat because I don't like it). I know there isn't going to be an elf mini even remotely looking like Coderizon that's period appropriate, but at least Seltyiel has a similar face and haircut. I wish the sword was more removable so I could replace it with a whip though.

Working (slowly) on a digital painting of him.

LEGOS

And, with sites like BrickForge you can make sure your mini is outfitted to match your character. With everything from Power Blades and Battle Rifles to Space Marien Armor and Goggles; you can really customize your mini!

Now that I have my Legos back from the depth's of my mom's basement, I've been considering doing that.

We're using them in our Pathfinder game (and since they had released the Castles line a few years ago, there's orcs, skeletons and dwarves out on the market).
