The linguasoft could project subtitles into the AR of the other person, and perhaps the whole thing could run a little faster if both commlinks were running appropriate linguasofts. There's also the possibility of communicating through a third language; for instance, a man who only speaks English could communicate with a man who only speaks Japanese if both their commlinks are running a Swahili linguasoft. And if you want to communicate to someone who neither speaks your language or has a commlink or AR of any sort? You can speak into your commlink and have it repeat your words in their language.
